At least six years successful and progressive experience in all phases of gas/diesel/internal combustion engine-driven equipment. Possesses a very good working knowledge of all codes, regulations (applicable FMCSA, DOT, HI state statutes), standards, and safety rules/regulation/practices of the regulatory agencies/trade/Company in addition to specialized knowledge of the design, construction, assembly, adjustment, maintenance and repair of gas/diesel/internal combustion engine driven equipment. Ability to attain additional ASE certifications. Must be a safe and competent driver, cognizant of all traffic laws and have a clean traffic abstract. Qualified in all phases of the work described. Very proficient in the proper use of the tools, materials, and equipment of the trade and have a good safety record. Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Preferably a high school graduate with technical schooling in automotive repair. Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: Possesses a Hawaii mechanic license or ASE certifications for the following: brakes (Med.-HD truck preferred), engine repair (diesel preferred) and electrical-electronic systems. Must possess a valid Class A, CDL license with Hazardous Material endorsement with no restrictions on air brakes or transmission type, and valid Medical Examiner's Certificate per 49 CFR 391.41 through 391.49.
