Job Description
Under general supervision, the 2624 Dietitian develops and plans special diets for patients. The essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
Completes nutrition assessments (including nutrition diagnosis, interventions, goal setting and monitoring) for patients/residents with varying levels of acuity, utilizing evidenced-based medical nutrition therapy principles;
Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to develop individualized, whole-person nutrition care;
Assesses educational needs and provides nutrition counseling to patients/residents and their families through a health equity lens and within the context of their medical condition(s);
Provides guidance and educational in-services to the multidisciplinary care team and/or food service staff on the principles of nutrition support, medical nutrition therapy, and food safety & sanitation;
Interprets nutrition related rules and regulations and advises on their correct application within the healthcare setting;
Contributes expertise and knowledge of nutrition best practices to help guide hospital policies & procedures and quality improvement initiatives; and

Qualifications
License and Certification:
