The Nutrition Assistant will work as part of an interdisciplinary team in order to support and promote health education, nutrition presentations, and other activities for our Bronx-based patients. Minimum Qualifications:

Food Handler Certification, a plus.
Key Duties:
Assists Nutritionist with carrying out activities.
Conducts nutrition consults and screenings.
Assistant in the development of new and creative ways to enhance our Nutrition Education programs.
Recruits patients for department activities and programs such as diabetes and cooking classes.
Assist with reviewing and addressing nutrition referrals generated by providers.
Provide preventive education to low risk patients and refer high risk patients to the nutritionist/CDN.
Make reminder phone calls to patients .
Assist with food insecurity programs and outreach events.
