Only every other weekend and holiday. PM Aide 3:30pm-7pm Requirements: Work well with a team Responsibilities as an Aide: Ensures all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established polices. Ensures the dining room is set up appropriately for all resident meals. Process diet changes and new diets as received from Dietary Manager. Properly identify each meal served according to resident diet and name. Delivers food to residents and guests in a pleasant manner. The dietary aide performs a key function in the facility dietary department assuming primary responsibility to provide the necessary assistance to the cook/chef in the preparation and service of all meals maintaining compliance with all applicable Food Sanitation Codes and state and federal regulations. The dietary aide also performs all other essential duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor/Chef/Cook to work collaboratively with dishwashers in order to assure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen in compliance with all local, state, and federal sanitation codes. Job Description • The dietary aide assists in preparing and serving meals. The dietary aide assists the Dietary Manager and other dietary staff as directed. The Food Aide is responsible for the overall management of the Educare Servery. The Food Aide is responsible for ensuring that practices and procedures are enforced strictly to guidelines, as set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the Federal Head Start Performance Standards. Conduct quarterly Taste of Educare events for families. * Maintain appropriate personal hygiene rules per regulations. * Use Universal Health Precautions as outlined in the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) licensing standards for childcare centers. * Develop and monitor a schedule for the cleaning of all kitchen equipment. * Record all food substitutions, including menu changes, daily and file in a USDA binder. * Maintains confidentiality under Start Early's policies and procedures. * Attend and actively participate in all required meetings and trainings, and reflective supervision. * Ensure no child is left unattended and implement Active Supervision Strategies. * Completes required continuing education and maintains required certifications.
