Dietary aide job in Dallas, TX
In this position, The Director of Dietary/Cook, will prepare and/or direct the preparation of food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards following established food production programs and procedures for Advanced Hospital & Clinics. The incumbent will correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders, portioning food for serving, and planning food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food/meals are preserved.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will use your prior experience with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware, combined with your knowledge of cooking procedures and methods of grilling, baking, and boiling as a critical part of role.
Have a passion for presentation, dedication to flavor and commitment to setting high standards from workspace and beyond.
Will keep cold foods cold, will use microwave, chafing dishes with proper use of heating elements, casseroles, and hot plates.
Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards, observing proper food preparation and handling technique.
Storing food properly and safely marking dates and items
Dishwashing
Reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance
Determining amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems; ensuring availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
Serving and ensuring proper serving of food for tray line and dining room.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED Preferred
Minimum 18 Years of Age
Prior experience in related food service positions required.
The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling.
A good grasp of reading, writing and basic math.
The flexibility to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts, when needed.
Fluent in English language, speak, read, and write.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED Preferred
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE
Food Handler Certification required
Food Manager Certification preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Correctly preparing all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders.
Complying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.
