Solero is currently seeking experienced Dietary Aides to work in a therapeutic setting providing care and treatment to patients with a history of behavioral health treatment. Previous experience working with behavioral health patients is strongly preferred.
The Role Itself
Assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.
Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions
Places prepared food on plates/trays in accordance with tray tickets in line with our established policies and procedures, and, as may be directed by the Executive Chef/Food Services Director/Manager or Cook, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.
Prepares and delivers food, washes dishes and cleans and sanitizes kitchen according to health standards.
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience combination.
Must be 21 yrs or older.

Strong ability to work independently and manage meal service for 20 residents.
Some food service work experience required.
Great communication skills are required.
Primary Responsibilities for Dietary Aide:
Handle, transport and plate food for residents, guests and employees.
Plate food according to the planned menu using standard recipes.
Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
Assist other kitchen staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ensures that sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
Communicates with supervisor of shortages or outages.
Ensures freshness, cooking status and proper temperature of all food being served.
Maintain all daily logs, postings and documentations required for meal services
Stocks and cleans station for next shift.
Follows proper food rotation policies.
Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;
Operates equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to executive chef.
Delivers and retrieves food carts to and from satellite kitchens.
Sets up service line and prepare for meal service.
Wash, sanitize and properly store dishes and utensils from meal services.
Monitors and controls use of soap and cleaning agents in dishwasher.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation throughout work areas
Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Scrubs and mops floors, cleans and sanitizes equipment;
Inventories and stocks food and paper goods in satellite kitchens.
Prepares snacks and beverages for between-meal service to residents.
Reports malfunctioning equipment to the executive chef.
Consistently maintains a positive attitude which supports a team environment.
Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
Knowledgeable of the resident rights, and ensures an atmosphere which allows for privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
Maintain safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management and security.
Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
Present professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag.
As a Dietary Aide, you will maintain a positive attitude which supports team performance and productivity.
General Working Conditions:
This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may frequently bend, reach, grasp, and climb. The employee may basically squat and kneel. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. Essential Functions:

Utilizes concepts of age/developmental stages in interactions with patients and families.
May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
1 year experience in healthcare food services preferred.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation:
Food Handler's permit preferred.

About the Role
The Nutrition Assistant is a member of the Care Delivery team who is responsible for ensuring that Equip patients and their families have adequate support to meet their nutritional goals. The Nutrition Assistant delivers complementary tools, resources, and live support that help patients implement the nutrition recommendations made by their Equip Registered Dietitians. The Nutrition Assistant also engages in administrative tasks that assist the Registered Dietitian in providing timely and accurate patient care.
Responsibilities
Meal Support: Provide direct meal supervision (group or 1:1), offer meal support via messaging, and support meal feedback in consultation with Registered Dietitians.
Menu Building: Perform quality assurance on patient menus and process personalized menu updates.
Meal Planning: Conduct one-on-one meal planning sessions.
Cooking Support: Lead one-on-one cooking sessions and generate content for cooking videos.
Administrative Support: Complete administrative tasks for Registered Dietitians, including growth chart review, supplement insurance letters, external care coordination, and message triaging/response.
Meetings & Training: Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required training.
Adhere to HIPAA rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience providing nutritional services (e.g. meal support or supervision) to patients in a clinical setting or actively pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Experience working in an eating disorder program or mental health preferred.
Passion for evidence-based care and treatment as well as an ability to learn, practice, and continuously develop skills in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Ability to connect with a range of diverse patients with varying diagnoses and degrees of acuity.
Attention to detail.
Comfortable working with and learning new technologies.
Comfortable working in a remote environment, including the requirement to be on camera.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for a Program Coordinator IV (Working Title: School Nutrition Consultant) for the Office of School Nutrition.
This position functions in a professional consultative and auditing capacity, ensuring School Food Authorities (SFAs) are informed of all policies, procedures, and laws applicable to the federally assisted and state-administered School Nutrition Programs. This professional serves as the first line of contact for SFA personnel which includes traditional public schools, charter schools, non-public schools, Residential Child Care Institutions, and other institutions where students have access to educational opportunities recognized by the State.
The Nutrition Consultant provides comprehensive technical assistance, consultation, professional development, program assessment/evaluation and compliance monitoring, requiring mastery of complex federal and state regulations and must understand how the regulations are implemented into the local education environment. The consultant must analyze and apply complex regulations and statutes and accompanying guidance to support the successful administration and operation of School Nutrition Programs by local School Nutrition professionals. The consultant must also support SFA personnel in achieving regulatory compliance as well as operational, nutritional, and financial integrity of the respective programs. The consultant must provide technical assistance, consultation, and resources to assist local program administrators in developing and implementing standard operating procedures that ultimately achieve compliance with regulations and support the highest quality programs with sustainable outcomes. Decisions made by this professional have a direct impact on the financial viability and overall program outcomes of all SFAs within the consultant's geographic region. Errors made by this professional can adversely impact SFAs including the loss of federal and state School Nutrition funds, decline in student participation, compromise of program integrity and ultimately erosion of public trust in School Nutrition programs. Accuracy is critical in the role of the Nutrition Consultant.
The Nutrition Consultant uses analytical skills to assess compliance with various laws, regulations, policies, and procedures and establish standard operating procedures, corrective actions or other solutions to remedy significant problems that may threaten the viability of the LEA's School Nutrition Program. The consultant synthesizes the regulatory requirements with practical applications and produces a solution that remedies various problems. In addition, the consultant conducts on-site and off-site Administrative Reviews under the leadership of the Administrative Review Specialists. In this capacity, they are responsible for assessing program operations for compliance with federal and state regulations. This professional's focus during the Administrative Review is largely on school-based operations and program integrity. The Consultant develops and facilitates appropriate corrective action when needed to ensure sub-recipients comply with federal and state regulations, and compiles documentation to report sponsor progress to the Senior Director, Section Chief, local Boards of Education, School District Superintendents, legislative bodies, local program directors, and other agencies as required by law.
This professional is a member of a team of consultants, each assigned to a specific geographic area in the state. To provide frequent and regular on-site technical assistance, monitoring, and professional development, the Consultant is required to maintain a remote duty station. Maintaining and working from a remote duty station requires a uniquely qualified individual, one who is self-directed, highly competent, and continuously learning. It is essential the individual in this position demonstrates a high level of initiative and be judicious in completing assignments without daily direct supervision and have a high proficiency in computer systems, programs and applications. The Nutrition Consultant must be a self-directed learner, capable of independent learning and analysis of content, situations, environments, and conditions under which regulations must be applied with fidelity.

Job Description
The Dietary Aide supports food service operations by preparing and serving meals in accordance with planned menus, therapeutic diet requirements, and established food safety standards. This role helps ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked dietary environment while supporting patient care and overall facility operations.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, portion, and serve food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus and dietary guidelines.
Handle food using proper food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Clean and sanitize food preparation equipment, dishware, and work areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
Operate the dish machine according to established procedures.
Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of patient food items and dietary supplies.
Maintain accurate records related to patient diet information.
Interact appropriately with patients and families, utilizing knowledge of age and developmental considerations.
Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following safety and infection prevention standards.
Report and address safety concerns and implement appropriate precautions as needed.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance according to assigned work schedules.
Be available to work during inclement weather or staffing emergencies as required.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the organization.
Qualifications
Valid Serve Safe Certification required.
Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
Ability to follow written menus, diet orders, and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
