The Dietary Aide is responsible for providing dining room services and/or tray delivery dining services to
guests/residents in the community's Skilled Nursing Center in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living standards. **General Dining Service Duties**
+ Prepares dining and tray service according to menus and follows therapeutic diet orders.

+ Performs and completes opening/closing checklist criteria.

**Resident Services**
+ Reviews, reads, notates and initializes the Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent information.
+ Ensures that the paper copy of SCC resident diet orders is up to date to use in case TSD downtime or emergencies.
+ Reviews Resident Diet Book, confidential Diet Board / Indicator, Data Card or Chart If table side dining is not in place.
+ Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
**Food Safety and Sanitation**
+ Practices safe food handling at all times to prevent an outbreak of food borne illness.
+ Completes daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments.
+ Maintains all work areas in a healthful and safe condition.
+ Assists in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization and supplies placement.
**Risk Management and General Safety**
+ Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
+ Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Lockout Tagout procedures.

* Practices safe food handling at all times to prevent an outbreak of food borne illness.
* Completes daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments.
* Maintains all work areas in a healthful and safe condition.
* Assists in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization and supplies placement.
Risk Management and General Safety
* Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
* Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Lockout Tagout procedures.

A caregiver in this position works 24 hours per week, Monday-Friday, from 6:00AM - 2:30PM or 10:00AM - 6:30PM. Rotating weekends and holidays will be required.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Prepare quality food items in accordance with production sheets, recipes and menus.
* Operate kitchen equipment.
* Prepare food on the grill, in ovens or using an induction stove.
* Prepare cold food items, vegetables, salad mixes and sandwich spreads.
* Select, measure, grind, slice and mix ingredients.
* Assist the cook and nutrition assistants.
* Assist in the assembly of food for final preparation.
* Assemble, transport and pick up patient trays to and from patient rooms.
