Function: The Food Service Aid is responsible for the supervision of students during breakfast and lunch periods in the cafeteria, lavatories, and on school grounds that supports student-centered classrooms that promote discourse and collaboration. This position is responsible for assisting in collaboration with the school staff and the food service company staff in providing an orderly means of distributing meals. The Food Service Aide reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer with directives from the School Principal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide supervision of children during lunch and/or breakfast periods. Ensure that trays are emptied properly into proper receptacles including recycling. Clean/sanitize tables between servings and at the conclusion of the breakfast and/or lunch periods. Spot clean the floor during and at the end of the breakfast and lunch periods. Responsible for the disposal of trash and cleaning of the cafeteria area. Minimize movement of students during lunch period by assisting them in obtaining straws, napkins, utensils, etc. While on playground duty, be sure to move about so that all areas of the playground are visually supervised. Maintains student confidentiality (e.g., student eligibility for free and reduced lunch, student account information, etc.) for the purpose of protecting student privacy. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned and are consistent with this position. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Required Qualifications: Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks. Must be able to develop a good rapport with children. HS Diploma or GED preferred
