What You Will Do: * Checks NPO status with Nursing utilizing Host Round Sheets. Checks for new admissions and/or diet changes. Documents intake of fluids, carbohydrates, and calorie counts. Breaks down dirty trays to be washed. * Assembles and delivers floor stock orders for the assigned unit. Follows food safety and sanitation guidelines including: * Delivers meals in a timely fashion. Monitors and reports delays in service. Insures that all trays are covered prior to delivery to patient's room. Carefully pours hot beverages as trays are delivered. * Cleans unit kitchen, including refrigerator/freezer, and microwave. * Insures all items are properly wrapped, labeled, and dated. * Practices frequent hand washing after handling soiled or contaminated items. * Follows isolation precautions on patient doors; uses appropriate protective equipment. * Coordinates menus with patients` families when they cannot participate in room service.
