The ideal candidate will be someone proficient in ASL or willing to learn. Responsibilities: Set up meal trays, food carts and the dining room. Ensure that food, menus and supplies for the next meal are readily available. Assist in daily cleaning duties, such as worktables, refrigerators, etc. Retrieve dishes from the dining room, wash and clean utensils, and return them to their proper storage areas. Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous materials. Assist Cooks in preparing meals. Qualifications: Must be 16 years of age or older High school diploma, or equivalent if applicable Experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred. Responsibilities: Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas. Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated. Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart. Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line). During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry. After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor. Qualifications: Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements. Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English. Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees. Must pass a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
