Function: The Food Service Aid is responsible for the supervision of students during breakfast and lunch periods in the cafeteria, lavatories, and on school grounds that supports student-centered classrooms that promote discourse and collaboration. This position is responsible for assisting in collaboration with the school staff and the food service company staff in providing an orderly means of distributing meals. The Food Service Aide reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer with directives from the School Principal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide supervision of children during lunch and/or breakfast periods. Ensure that trays are emptied properly into proper receptacles including recycling. Clean/sanitize tables between servings and at the conclusion of the breakfast and/or lunch periods. Spot clean the floor during and at the end of the breakfast and lunch periods. Responsible for the disposal of trash and cleaning of the cafeteria area. Minimize movement of students during lunch period by assisting them in obtaining straws, napkins, utensils, etc. While on playground duty, be sure to move about so that all areas of the playground are visually supervised. Maintains student confidentiality (e.g., student eligibility for free and reduced lunch, student account information, etc.) for the purpose of protecting student privacy. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned and are consistent with this position. Responsibilities Job Summary The primary role of the Dietary Aid is to wash dishes, glassware, flatware, food preparation equipment and utensils. This position is also responsible for mopping floors and cleaning surfaces as required. The Dietary Aid is also responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to ensure loss, waste, and fraud is minimized. Operation of commercial dishwashing equipment is necessary to perform required duties. Also responsible for preparing food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards following established food production programs and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: * Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation, dishwasher, refrigerators, ovens, etc. * Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures for quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements. * Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests; when applicable. * Uses chemicals properly on equipment. * Checks ice machine and monitors beverage levels during every mealtime. * Stores leftovers properly to prevent contamination. * Cleans worktables, storage areas, and equipment. * Uses proper methods and cooking temperatures to prevent contamination, spoilage, and waste. * Sweeps and mops floors. * Take daily food and equipment temperatures. * Wipe down all countertops, tables, and chairs in the dining hall. * Wash all dishes, glassware, flatware, utensils using commercial dishwasher. * Clean all work surfaces as needed. * Remove trash and clean trash cans as needed. * Stock supplies and equipment in appropriate areas. * Maintain clean dishes, utensils or cooking equipment in storage areas. * Receive and store supplies. * Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Education/Experience: * High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Serve Safe Certificate preferred. * Minimum of two years experience in food production required. * Experience in preparing and serving food in an institutional setting preferred. Assures the accurate tray set up of meal service and the cleanliness and sanitation of flatware, dishware, pots and pans, kitchen equipment, kitchen environment, and the preparation of meal specials in accordance to Federal and State regulations, therapeutic diets, food safety standards, service schedules, and facility policies. Part-time Description The dietary aide is responsible for cleaning the kitchen area. Is responsible washing, pans, silverware, dishes, utensils, in compliance with applicable food and sanitation codes as outlined in the FOOD CODE BOOK. Participates in clearing and setting dining room tables for meal service. Participates in serving the meals to residents. Responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of Charlesgate Senior Living Center Required Duties Washes, dries and restocks pots, pans plates, glasses, and silverware according to proper methods of sanitation. Cleans kitchen surfaces and equipment according to schedules. Operates assembles, and disassembles, ,cleans, and delimes the dish machine, Cleans grease trap screen daily Cleans spills immediately. Demonstrates knowledge of proper infection control techniques. Including cleaning, storage, and food handling. Demonstrated knowledge of emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports May prep salads, and desserts Empties trash after meal service Breaks down boxes before they are put into the dumpster. Sets tables in the dining room Attends meetings and in-services as required. Requirements COMMUNICATION SKILLS/ English-Ability to speak, read, and understand spoken and written directions. Ability to respond to common inquiries from residents, and regulatory agencies. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Criminal background, and finger print verification needed before hire.
