Position Summary Be an active participant in campers' experience and camp community. Uphold all policies, procedures, and safety standards for the wellbeing of staff and campers. This seasonal full-time position is needed at Camp Alice Chester in East Troy, WI from May 2026 through July 2026. Maintain a clean kitchen area. Support and assist food service, campers, counselors, and program staff. What You'll Do Maintain records of water and refrigerator temperatures during use. Assist in the opening and closing of the kitchen and camp. Prep food for weekly cookouts and themed meals. Assist with ratio of coverage in units. Teach skills necessary to help the camper live comfortably in the camp setting and promote a sense of responsibility toward preservation of natural resources. Engage in learning to build skills towards respectfully interacting with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races. Supervise campers' participation in structured and unstructured activities. Prepare dining hall and assist campers in dining set up. Assist cooks while serving food at meals. Assist in opening and closing of camp. Clean kitchen and dining hall after meals including dishes, sweeping, mopping, and operating dishwasher. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Camp Director. Requirements Position Requirements At least 18 years of age. I desire to work in a camp kitchen. Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member. Comfort and ability to live, sleep, and work in a rustic outdoor environment with irregular hours. Effectively and respectfully communicate instructions, issues, and needs with campers, staff, and supervisors including with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races. Physical demands and work environments regularly require the employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths. These Skills Are A Plus Experience and/or training in a restaurant, kitchen, or housekeeping environment.
