MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare the cafeteria counter for each meal and scheduled breaks as assigned. Ensure containers are fully stocked with dishes, trays, utensils, cups, and other supplies. Serve employees and guests in the cafeteria line, greeting patrons cheerfully and respectfully while following proper portion-control techniques. Clean tables and chairs in the cafeteria or staff dining area after each meal, as assigned. Monitor food availability and communicate with cooks to prevent shortages. Maintain correct serving temperatures for both hot and cold foods. Keep the cafeteria counter neat, clean, and organized. Stock condiments and refill them throughout meal service. Record the number of patrons served during each meal, including employees and guests. Assist in sanitizing all cooking and serving utensils. Fulfill and deliver floor supply requisitions. Prepare and deliver patient snacks and nourishments. Provide age-appropriate care and service for children, adolescents, and geriatric patients. Dietary Cook Major Duties and Critical Tasks: Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and within physician's/nutritionists' dietary recommendations Maintain high standard of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards Dietary Cook Other Duties: Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or as may become necessary. Represents the facility at and participates in meetings as required Assists in standardizing work methods. As the job description may not be all-inclusive, the employee is expected to perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.
