Position Overview
The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking a Cafeteria Aide to help foster a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and assist with daily food service operations. This role supports the overall dining experience for students by promoting positive behavior, ensuring safety, and helping with basic cafeteria tasks.
Key Responsibilities
The Cafeteria Aide will:
Establish and maintain a pleasant, orderly environment in the cafeteria
Organize students into orderly lines for purchasing food.
Organize students for orderly disposal of food wastes, trays, and utensils.
Organize groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
Implement the rules and procedures for students as established by the building principal.
Report any emergencies immediately to the school office.
Responsible for wiping tables, cleaning up spills, and maintaining a clean, safe cafeteria.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Building Principal.
Education Requirements
Minimum: High School Diploma/GED
Experience Requirements
Minimum:
Prior experience in food service operations
Familiarity with cash drawer handling and point-of-sale systems
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Six months experience working with children
Experience in a public education cafeteria operations.
