Job Description
Under general supervision, the 2624 Dietitian develops and plans special diets for patients. The essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
Completes nutrition assessments (including nutrition diagnosis, interventions, goal setting and monitoring) for patients/residents with varying levels of acuity, utilizing evidenced-based medical nutrition therapy principles;
Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to develop individualized, whole-person nutrition care;
Assesses educational needs and provides nutrition counseling to patients/residents and their families through a health equity lens and within the context of their medical condition(s);
Provides guidance and educational in-services to the multidisciplinary care team and/or food service staff on the principles of nutrition support, medical nutrition therapy, and food safety & sanitation;
Interprets nutrition related rules and regulations and advises on their correct application within the healthcare setting;
Contributes expertise and knowledge of nutrition best practices to help guide hospital policies & procedures and quality improvement initiatives; and
Provides coordination of tasks for new employees, student volunteers, interns and Dietetic Technicians, Registered, as applicable.

Qualifications
License and Certification:
Requires possession of a current valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics).

Job Summary
The Food Service Aide plays an essential role in ensuring that every Fortune scholar receives safe, nutritious, and appealing meals each day.
Working under the direction of the Food Service Coordinator, the Aide assists in food preparation and serving, ensures proper storage of food and supplies, and maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks following established schedules and portion guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, serving, and storage areas.
Follow sanitation and food safety standards for preparing, handling, and storing food.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries; verify inventory levels and rotate stock as needed.
Support setup and cleanup of serving lines, utensils, and eating areas.
Provide friendly, courteous service to students and staff at all times.
Adhere to all Fortune School policies, procedures, and health department regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Nutrition Assistant supports the delivery of nutrition services in compliance with Title 22, California Code of Regulations, Section 54333, by assisting the Registered Dietitian in preparing, documenting, and monitoring participant nutritional care. This position helps ensure all dietary services meet the individualized needs of participants and comply with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) licensing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in collecting nutritional data for initial and periodic assessments, including dietary preferences, allergies, and feeding needs.
* Support implementation of care plans by preparing charts, tracking nutrition-related goals, and assisting with progress monitoring.
* Assist in the preparation and distribution of therapeutic and modified diets consistent with each participant's care plan and dietary orders.
* Monitor food safety practices and sanitation procedures.
* Maintain participant nutrition documentation, meal counts, and records as required for program compliance and audits.
* Provide nutrition-related group education under the direction of the dietitian, consistent with the participant's functional level.
* Report significant changes in food intake, weight, or physical status to the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary team.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff and the food service vendor to ensure proper meal delivery, portion control, and therapeutic diet accuracy.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Coursework in nutrition, food science, or health preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
* Valid California Food Handler Card or ServSafe Certification (per Cal. Health & Safety Code §113947).

Qualifications
