Key Responsibilities: Meal Service: Set up and deliver meals to residents according to dietary requirements and preferences. Ensure food is served at the correct temperature, portion size, and in an aesthetically appealing manner. Assist residents with menu choices and take special requests when necessary. Respond promptly to any food-related inquiries or requests from residents. Resident Assistance: Offer personalized service to residents, helping with any special needs such as cutting food, providing condiments, or assisting with meal consumption, as necessary. Communicate effectively with residents about their meal preferences and dietary restrictions. Dining Area Maintenance: Set and clear dining tables, floors, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times. Reset dining area quickly and efficiently for the next meal service. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including food carts, trays, and serving utensils. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with kitchen staff and dining services team to ensure accurate food preparation and service. Communicate any special dietary requests or concerns to the Dietary Manager or kitchen staff. Report any issues or concerns regarding food quality, safety, or resident satisfaction to the Dining Services Manager. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all food safety guidelines, sanitation standards, and health regulations in the preparation, service, and storage of food. Ensure proper use of food handling equipment and utensils to maintain hygiene. Additional Duties: Assist with inventory and food stock as needed. Attend training sessions or meetings as required. Provide assistance with special events or seasonal meal services, as directed. Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or a similar setting is preferred, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided. Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude toward elderly residents. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to follow directions and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push or pull carts and trays as needed. Ability to bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks, such as setting tables and serving meals.
