Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Graduate from a formal school specializing in institutional cooking preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience preferred.

License/Certification:

Current Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card.

Other:

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.

Our company is seeking a full-time Dietary Lead to join our team of exceptional and dedicated directors and caregivers. We are looking for individuals with a desire to contribute and make a difference in the lives of the community we serve.

This position provides immediate support to the Dietary Manager and primary duties include assisting with managing and directing the operations of our dietary department. This team member will lead and supervise staff members engaged in serving food in healthcare facility, and in maintaining cleanliness of all food service areas and equipment.

The Dietary Lead will monitor staff members to ensure compliance with company, and state and federal regulatory workplace safety standards. Supervise and organize food preparation and service so that food leaves kitchen and is served to our residents in scheduled time frames. Provide for food substitutes of similar nutritional value for residents when necessary. Will work closely with nursing staff to identify possible problems and discuss complex issues concerning residents' nutritional requirements. Will lead and work with staff in improving procedures and quality of service.

The Dietary Lead will ensure that all duties performed by the dietary department comply with the standards established by the company's Quality Assurance Program.

In cases of workplace exposure, provides immediate first aid and refers employee to appropriate facility staff member for post-exposure follow-up. Reports all injuries of self or others to supervisor immediately.

Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate with other company Team Leaders and Executives, must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept. Must demonstrate patience, tact, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to manage in challenging situations.
