Our Dietary Aides provide food service to our residents focusing the needs of each resident during meal times. Dietary Aide Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in daily preparation and service of resident meals, including therapeutic and modified consistency diets.
Ensure meals are appealing, appetizing and nutritionally sound.
Work on tray line or in dining rooms serving meals to residents.
Assists with food storage according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
Maintain sanitation standards as defined by facility policy and procedure while in the prep areas of the kitchen as well as the dish room.
Attend required staff in-services
Cleans dishes, utensils and equipment according to sanitation standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Dietary Aide Requirements:
Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Current identification.
Excellent personal hygiene.
Experience:
Prior experience in long term care is preferred.

Position Summary
The Dining Aide provides assistance in all dining functions to ensure residents' dining needs are met in accordance with community policies, physician orders, resident care plans and appropriate regulations. This position also maintains excellent customer service and quality nutritional services on a daily basis.
Essential Functions
* Assists in the delivery of meals to the residents in the dining room and/or in their apartments.
* Take residents' orders at the table and ensures that their requests are fulfilled and they are satisfied.
* Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room table, etc. pre-bus and clear tables.
* Take attendance in the dining room and report any residents who are not present to a supervisor.
* Welcome new residents and comply with diet order, food likes, dislikes and allergies.
* Maintain kitchen in accordance with all state and local health department regulations and ensure the dining department is inspection ready at all times.
* Must be able to assist in daily cleaning duties. (i.e., sweeping, dishwashing, mopping).
* Observe resident's nutritional intake and report any unusual behaviors to the Dining Director and/or Cook.
* Complete requirements of the community Quality Assurance program, including department records
* Review and follow diet roster and food allergies during meal service.
* Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

* High School Graduate or GED
* CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation.
* Meet all health requirements including TB including all required immunizations.

Dietary Aide provides dietary services for the residents in Assisted Living and the Health Center. Dietary Aides complete dietary services including and not limited to serving meals to resident, cleaning dish, cleaning the dinner room, and other directive from the Dietary Cook.
What will I do as a Dietary Aide with Genacross?
Review menus in preparation for meal services.
Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
Set up of meal trays, food carts, serving of food and meal delivery as necessary for the resident dining experience.
Responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of food to residents.
Assists in the distributing of resident meals to create an enhanced experience.
Processes diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
Completes necessary forms, reports, etc. in order to ensure smooth operations of the dietary department.
Works closely with the dietician in order to implement necessary changes to the resident dining experience.
Addresses resident and family concerns in a professional manner and reports those concerns to the Director of Dietary Services.
Assists in the inventory and storage process of incoming foods, supplies, etc. and works to maintain accuracy and organization in this process within applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
Perform dishwashing procedures to ensure clean plates; utensils, etc. are available for the upcoming resident dining experience.
Responsible for assigned cleaning duties in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
Implements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency.
Dietary Aide Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Prior experience working in a long-term care setting and with a high-volume food production setting preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new software application as required by the position.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.

Your role as a Dietary Aide
