As an EIM Consultant, you will help clients effectively use data to make better decisions by assessing current information management systems, developing a road map for modernization, and working with a team to design, develop, and deploy transformational systems for data management, integration, and analytics solutions. Hours: Part-time or Consultant - $30/hr for up to 19 hours/week

General Summary:

The Digital Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Transformed Future Projects as described in the Mellon Foundation grant application. The main responsibilities of this person include data gathering and analysis, story collecting, programming, and cartography. Working with community collaborators and contributors, the project aims to collect stories of Decatur's residents and add layers of Decatur history-- Native stories, colonialism stories, white settler/agriculture stories, stories of enslavement, Reconstruction, freedom stories, and modern stories of the challenges of inclusion (economic inclusion, cultural diversity) to a Decatur map.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Serves as coordinator for the Transformed Future Project.
  2. Create and train a small group of student researchers in basic digital mapping
  3. Analyzes spatial data through the use of mapping software
  4. Supports various programs in the Decatur community, including those coordinated with the 200th anniversary of the City of Decatur.
  5. In collaboration with the college's local partners, coordinates and supports the collection of 200 oral stories of 10 minutes each by Decatur's 200th birthday in 2023

REQUIREMENTS

Education: BS or BA required in related field of study.

Experience: Experience in digital cartography.

Experience working with diverse groups of community members/groups of all backgrounds and identities. Experience working with archives and gathering in-person information.
