What You'll Do
Summary/Objective:
The Mortgage Risk Analyst I is responsible for performing regulatory compliance tests and analysis of mortgage loans and home equity loans/lines.
Essential Functions

Support the Mortgage Department to develop and maintain an optimized and efficient regulatory program for mortgage loans and home equity loans/lines.
Perform ad hoc quality assurance testing to ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered to within the mortgage lending process.
Track and report the results of testing, providing both technical and functional suggestions to enhance the member experience through the lending process and create efficiencies for mortgage lending personnel.
Work with the Mortgage Risk and Compliance Departments to revise and implement existing and future regulatory needs throughout the mortgage lending and servicing areas.
Work with Mortgage Department leadership on internal and external audit examinations, assisting in the resolution of any outstanding issues.
Responsible for maintaining a mortgage lending compliance program in various areas, such as Fair Lending, HMDA, and TRID.
Assist in the design and implementation of projects and activities to further the growth of mortgage lending at DCU.
Work with Mortgage Risk leadership to develop the Mortgage Department's annual compliance testing plan.
Develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for early warning signs of compliance concerns.
Monitor various indicators of risk - KRIs, QC results, compliance testing results, complaints, risk assessment results, etc., to identify weaknesses and assist in remediating.
Review new products/services for potential compliance concerns; prepare risk assessments.
Maintain knowledge of, and adhere to, the Credit Union's internal compliance policies and procedures.
Provide innovative, detailed, and practical solutions to an extensive range of demanding and complicated problems.
Make recommendations for changes to procedures and documentation.
Create and maintain gap analysis detail reporting.
Manage large data sets, troubleshoot, and develop efficient processes for collecting and aggregating data.
Communicate effectively with team members and Mortgage Department leadership.
Identify issues and elevate as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

5-7 years of leadership and related mortgage lending experience
BA/BS Degree
Knowledge of State and Federal compliance regulations
Knowledge of Secondary Market guidelines

The administrative process includes calling delinquent members to arrange for payments and work with vendors to ensure collateral is located and retrieved from members that are unwilling to pay. * Makes recommendations for improvement of departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Review and/or approve bids for sale of collateral, if necessary
* Audits receipt of sales proceeds from vendors after sale of collateral
* Review vendor invoices for accuracy and reasonableness and prepare them for management approval
* Make collection calls to assist with departmental goals, as and when necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements:
* Previous consumer collections and/or skip tracing experience preferred

* Support Success Sharing by coaching the tellers to achieve their individual sales referral goals and educate members with self-service options.
* Oversee daily operations of the teller line including adherence to policies and procedures. Provide guidance and assistance to tellers, and approve system supervisor overrides. Assume responsibility for branch cash, negotiable items, nightly branch balancing, including ATM Custodian when required and securing confidential information.
* Respond to all member complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
* Perform Teller duties as needed. Accurately process all routine transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing. Complete member requests for money orders, treasurer's checks, stop payments, bonds, gift cards, check orders and account file maintenance. Balance vault, coin machine and daily work with minimal errors and in a timely manner while maintaining a cash variance record within guidelines.
* Perform MSR duties, which include having knowledge of all DCU products and services. Utilize established guidelines to obtain Lending Authority, process loan requests, confirm all conditions have been met and verify the integrity of the documents prior to conducting loan closings. Obtain Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) authority through the nationwide mortgage licensing system (NMLS) and originate mortgages, as well as obtain Notary Public certification.
* Support the auditing of all membership applications, account maintenance forms, new account applications and completed loan files.
* Provide coverage in other DCU areas such as other branches, Information Center, or support departments.
* Manage operations when covering a branch by assuring compliance with policies and procedures and security. Promptly resolve Information Services and maintenance issues as they occur.
