Digital systems engineer skills for your resume and career
15 digital systems engineer skills for your resume and career
1. RF
- Managed UMTS RF engine team to generate boundary requirements for DRP core meant to attach with UMTS modems.
- Performed system diagnostics, including problem isolation within the RF and Network interfaces requiring spectrum and protocol analysis equipment.
2. MATLAB
- Programmed digital circuits using C, PBASIC and VHDL and performed simulation using MATLAB and OrCAD
- Converted Matlab code to Verilog.
3. Java
Java is a widely-known programming language that was invented in 1995 and is owned by Oracle. It is a server-side language that was created to let app developers "write once, run anywhere". It is easy and simple to learn and use and is powerful, fast, and secure. This object-oriented programming language lets the code be reused that automatically lowers the development cost. Java is specially used for android apps, web and application servers, games, database connections, etc. This programming language is closely related to C++ making it easier for the users to switch between the two.
- Transformed usability designs into actionable development specifications and test plans for UI fundamentals, Java widgets and operator-specific cell phone applications.
- Deployed Java/J2EE applications to Application servers in an Agile continuous integration environment and also automated the whole process.
4. JavaScript
- Programmed in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
- Create internal tools and responsive web apps using JavaScript, jQuery and Foundation.
5. Digital Systems
- Performed emergency troubleshooting on all digital systems machines to minimize production downtime.
- Provided digital systems tailored to the requirements of commanders to plan and execute training program (Battle Focus Training).
6. FPGA
- Executed HW V&V plan including signal integrity, FPGA functional testing, SW integration, and power supply interfacing.
- Saved hours of re-synthesis, place and route time by using FPGA editor to add requested probe points.
7. Troubleshoot
Troubleshooting is the process of analyzing and fixing any kind of problem in a system or a machine. Troubleshooting is the detailed yet quick search in the system for the main source of an issue and solving it.
- Identify and troubleshoot C4ISR systems and network malfunctions and direct PM/PdM support for identified issues and track to resolution.
- Maintain, backup, troubleshoot, and administrate the hosting of over 10 websites.
8. DSP
Digital signal processing, DSP, is the use of digital processing to perform a variety of signal processing operations, primarily audio signals. It is about developing algorithms that can improve a signal in a certain way or extract useful information. It is mainly found in audio signals, voice processing, RADAR, seismology, audio, SONAR, voice recognition, and some financial signals.
- Produced firmware, embedded software and DSP solutions for Iron Curtain.
- Implemented DSP and digital communications components using VHDL.
9. Linux
Linux is a Unix-like operating system. Just like Windows, Mac OS, and IOS, Linux is an operating system used by millions across the globe. Android itself is powered by the Linux operating system. Linux manages all the hardware resources that are associated with your computer. The software is famous because of the protection it grants from viruses, malware, and crashes. The Linux operating system is entirely free and is an open-source software meaning it can be altered by those equipped with the knowledge to code.
- Installed and configured WebLogic and Apache Tomcat application servers running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a clustered/non-clustered environment.
- Developed procedures to unify streamline and automate applications development and deployment procedures with Linux container technology using Docker.
10. VHDL
- Involved Verilog and VHDL code.
- Provided detailed historical estimates of VHDL design efforts for a proposal for software-defined radio program.
11. SQL
- Implemented recipe storage and retrieval utilizing SQL statements to interact with an Oracle database to streamline manufacturing operations.
- Developed suite of SQL server and web based applications to replace legacy mainframe applications for a significant cost savings.
12. HTML
- Created HTML mock-ups for new Web application interfaces; recommended and implemented design and usability improvements for existing interfaces.

13. ASIC
- Analyzed opportunities for ASIC implementation of targeting and tracking algorithms.
- Worked on the development of a mixed-mode platform ASIC for hearing aids.
14. RTL
- Partition the design, synthesize the RTL, Place & Route and close timing on all FPGAs.
- Comapared RTL output to the expected outfile.
15. UI
- Collaborated with project managers and developers to refine interaction design; updated team about information architecture and UI issues.
- Worked directly with product managers and UI designers to understand business requirements to ensure product visions are properly interpreted and implemented.
