One of the top historically black universities in the country, Dillard
University in New Orleans, Louisiana is an academically rigorous,
traditional liberal arts school with a highly impressive list of alumni. The Dillard campus is comprised of historical buildings over a wide area.
Well over 100 years old, Dillard offers a traditional esthetic in which
to learn and study. Academics at Dillard are divided into distinctive schools, including the
College of General Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences, which
offers degrees in the fine, liberal and performing arts, the natural and
social sciences and humanities. There is also a College of Professional Studies that offers, among
others, a degree in Nursing and a College of Business. Many Dillard students also participate in community service, study abroad
and leadership activities. Since Dillard students are so successful in their academic and
co-curricular activities, many of them have gone on to graduate school at
such places as Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Johns Hopkins. Transcripts, ACT or SAT scores and recommendation letters are required of
all applicants under age 23. All students may also apply for financial
