POSITION SUMMARY
The Recreation Attendant (RA) assists the Recreation Lead in planning, organizing, executing, and leading recreation activities at the campground such as arts and crafts, games, sports, dramatics, music, social activities, hobbies, and themed weekends. The RA is an enthusiastic, outgoing, creative team member who enjoys working with people of all ages. Being a people person with an engaging smile is imperative when relating with guests. This is a highly visible, customer-centric position that requires strong interpersonal customer service skills. Create an environment that is comfortable, fosters teamwork, allows everyone to be themselves, and reinforces KOA's culture that camping is fun and for everyone.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Help in preparations for events from start to finish.
Assist in creating a detailed events calendar that cohesively supports the campground, and guests of all age ranges.
Create supply lists and provide Recreation Lead as needed.
Take pictures of activities and obtain necessary photo release documentation for all individuals in photos.
In coordination with the marketing department, prepare fun and engaging social media posts.
Coordinate and prepare all food and beverage items, equipment, awards, and entertainment as needed for each event.
Maintain and clean recreation equipment and facilities.
Always keep recreation areas and facilities clean and free of debris.
Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining rules, and encouraging their participation.
Explain the rules of activities and instruct participants at a variety of skill levels
Enforce safety rules to prevent injury.
Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups, such as seniors or small children.
Administer basic first aid if needed and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary.
Clean, set-up, and breakdown the equipment that is used in recreational activities daily.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, quality and cleanliness while promoting an atmosphere of fun.
Maintain health standards and ensure guests and team members are in a safe and secure environment.
Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale and is dedicated to delivering KOAs Culture, Mission, Values and Goals.

Position Details
Our Team Associates are responsible for supporting individuals through teaching, coaching, modeling, and accompanying individuals with disabilities so that they are involved in family, neighborhood, civic, cultural, and religious activities and events. In a variety of settings, the DSP will work with individuals with varying degrees of medical and mental health diagnoses and abilities. DSP uphold dignity and respect of individual(s) served by promoting person-centered care while documenting and assisting activities of daily living in a safe and sanitary environment.
No experience required - we provide PAID training.
Earn up $16.00/hour.

Direct Support Professional II

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a Part-Time Direct Support Professional II (DSP) for in the West Neck unit for the Developmental Services Division. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
Duties:
* Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to 12 assigned participants.
* Complete all required documentation to show progress or regression towards the participant's Outcomes, Activities and Essential Supports within the quality and deadlines outlined in regulation and policy.by the end of shift.
* Complete all required billing processes to ensure the program accurately and ethically bills for services provided.
* Maintain the health, safety, and well-being of all participants in the program based on each participant's ISP.
* Administer medications as prescribed utilizing the 5 Rights of administration.
* Assist with and/or complete hygiene tasks to include, but are not limited to, showering, bathing, using the restroom, changing protective undergarments, brushing teeth, etc.
* Utilize safety and medical equipment as directed and trained by supervisory staff. Assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments.
* Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring all participants receive a well-balanced meal a minimum of three times per day with a morning and afternoon snack option.
* Prepare or review the medication administration record prior to implementation to ensure all entries match the physician's orders and that all necessary medications are on-site, available, and appropriately labeled.
* Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities. Transport participants with the use of a city vehicle and/or personal vehicle (dependent on program and city vehicle availability).
* Uphold all confidentiality, Human Rights, and Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) Rights at all times.
* Manage behavioral and crisis situations utilizing Therapeutic Options Techniques.
* Monitors the use and compliance of all financial ledgers being maintained at their assigned site or facility.
