Position Overview
We are hiring Attending Physicians (MD/DO) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) to provide exceptional weekend care to both short-term and long-term residents. The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, respectful, and compassionate medical care
Perform physical examinations upon admission and on an ongoing basis
Participate in comprehensive care planning and discharge planning
Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Provide clinical guidance, education, and support to staff
Develop, review, and uphold medical policies related to resident care
Assist with preparation for regulatory agency site visits
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in medical records
Manage prescribing responsibilities, including evaluating, adjusting, and discussing medication changes with residents
Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment

RequirementsFor Attending Physicians (MD/DO):
Active medical license
DEA registration in good standing
Current with CME requirements
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards
Prior experience in skilled nursing or high-acuity settings preferred

For Nurse Practitioners (NP):

The Physician - Internal Medicine/HIV Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive care to HIV patients and management of common and complex diseases. The Internist/ HIV specialist must be able to effectively diagnose patients and suggest a course of treatment and prescribe and administer medications, immunizations, and other non-surgical treatments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct patient care to Betances patients. Diagnose and treat acute illness, as well as chronic diseases and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes.
Maintenance of a clinic panel of people living with HIV and other patients appropriate to ongoing infectious disease oversight.
Prescribe or administer medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. Monitor patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments as necessary.
Provide health and wellness advice; order age-appropriate screenings, immunize patients against preventable diseases.
Adhere to documentation and quality standards set by New York State and any other standards implemented by the Chief Medical Officer.
Refer patients to other medical specialists, when necessary.
Maintain an ongoing relationship with back-up hospital and its professionals. Ultimately, have admitting privileges at that institution.
Timely completion of accurate and detailed notes, patient care forms, and letters.
Must adhere to BHC policies and procedures.
Must participate and complete quarterly peer reviews in a timely fashion.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Counselor will provide ongoing and trauma-informed comprehensive counseling services to adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and/or other forms of gender violence. Assist the clients to move toward managing their trauma; understanding the impact of gender-based violence on their lives and that of their children; help them to reach economic stability through case management, advocacy, and referral if necessary, to organizations providing such services. RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts evidence-based assessments and psycho-social interviews for adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.
Provides comprehensive trauma-informed individual/group counseling services with trauma and strengths-based perspectives to help clients process, cope, and heal from experiences of gender-based violence.
Provides safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, and referrals to other related services as needed.
Provides affidavits and testimony for immigration and other legal purposes.
Conducts trauma-related and gender-based violence outreach and training to community organizations and institutions serving the community.
Maintains accurate case records and utilizes internal database systems to track direct services to clients and outreach events.
Conducts groups on an on-going basis.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Maintains a network of contacts with other Social Service Agencies.
Collaborates with and refers to external counseling programs when appropriate.
Interacts and maintains open communication with clinical and other staff from the Family Justice Centers (FJC).
Works collaboratively with agency staff across all sites.
Professional Clinical License required to provide therapy/counseling.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, including working collaboratively with professionals across disciplines, (e.g. domestic violence advocates, housing specialists, attorneys, police officers, government officials, workforce development professionals and other community-based agency staff).
Experience and familiarity with relevant social services focusing on issues related to gender-based violence is strongly desired.
Familiar with issues of trauma, violence prevention and victimization.
Familiarity with NYC public benefits and housing systems is helpful.
Able to work 1-2 late evenings per week.
Fluency in Spanish required.
Budgeted Salary: $68,429 - $75,588 per year; based on experience pursuant to wage scale in accordance with collective bargaining agreement.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking On-Call Residential Aides to support our transitional shelter. Unlike set-schedule staff, On-Call Residential Aides must be flexible and available to cover any shift as needed: 12am - 8am, 8am - 4pm, or 4pm - 12am. The Residential Aides ensure that the participants of the transitional shelter are safe, monitor access to the facility, maintain an accurate count of the number of people in the facility, provide hourly tours of the facility, and maintain confidentiality of the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
Distributes information to residents regarding program rules and regulations.
Ensures compliance with program safety policies and procedures.
Screens incoming visitors to the facility by means of identification verification.
Provides conflict resolution.
Conducts monthly apartment inspections.
Monitors fire safety alarm panel and respond to facility emergencies.
Maintains a logbook of facility activities.
Conducts hourly tours of the facility to ensure its safety.
Answers and transfers incoming calls.
Prepares Incident/Accident and FYI reports for emergencies and violations of rules and/or regulations.
Responds to security emergencies.
In the absence of maintenance staff, sweeps the entry area, courtyard, and front of building as needed.
Performs any other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed.
High school diploma or equivalency, prior security law enforcement experience preferred.
Previous experience working in a shelter setting with families preferred.
F-80 License for Fire safety & alarm system strongly preferred.
F-02 Fire Guard License strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good verbal and writing skills.
CPR and First Aid certified or eligible.
Possess a NYS Security Guard License.
Possess or able to get an F-80 Certification; within three months of the hired date.
Calm during crisis.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Budgeted Salary: $20.00 - $20.00 per hour
Work position is On-Call; Hourly / Non-Exempt.
Work schedule is currently in-person; must be able to meet job location schedule obligations
