* Meets with family members and service providers to determine needs of clients; completes a variety of assessments and assist with the development of residential plan.
* Provides and assists individuals living in their residential homes, which includes: providing information; making appointments and referrals; documenting behaviors; and providing training and supervision to adults with mental and physical disabilities.
* Assists with activities of daily living, which includes bathing and grooming, dressing and undressing, meal preparation and feeding, safe restroom use; and maintaining continence.
* Assists with household chores and laundry.
* Transports clients as needed for appointments, etc.
* Completes inventory; assists them in shopping for their needs.
* Assists clients in managing their money.
* Advocates for clients.
* Monitors health care, nutrition, and diet that is prescribed by client's primary doctor.
* Trains and teaches client to be as independent as possible.

* Provides training on safety; prepares for disasters such as storms.

Performs related work as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
* Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Complete Medication Administration Records (MARs)
Support individuals with financial transactions, receipts, and account documentation
Additional Duties
Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning all rooms of the home - such as bedrooms, common areas, kitchen, and bathrooms.
Report maintenance or repair needs
Attend meetings and complete ongoing training as required
Perform related duties as assigned to support the agency's mission and operational needs
Lead DSP Duties
Monitor staff-completed MARs for accuracy and report issues in Therap
Support Alliant licensing reviews by ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available
Plan weekly meals and complete grocery shopping with individual dietary needs and preferences
Conduct individual personal shopping as needed
Complete and submit household purchase orders and maintenance work orders in a timely manner
Provide Rights and Abuse prevention training to individuals in compliance with agency and state requirements
Oversee and manage the financial accounts of individuals, including budgeting, receipts, and reconciliation (major responsibility)
Maintain current Personal Property Inventory for each individual, ensuring documentation is accurate and items are safeguarded
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Lift up to 50 lbs; assist with adult transfers as needed
Frequent movement: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting
Work indoors and outdoors in varied environments
Possible exposure to communicable diseases and physical aggression
Use of safety equipment (gloves, eye/ear protection) may be required
May be assigned to alternate locations or shifts
Must operate agency vehicles safely, including at night

Clear written English communication
Ability to follow directions and work independently
Positive interpersonal skills, time management, good judgment and accountability
Education & Experience & License
High School Diploma or GED (required) and Minimum age: 18
One year working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred)
Valid South Carolina Driver's License and acceptable driving record required
Essential Personnel Notice
This position is classified as Essential. In the event of emergencies, natural disasters, or other urgent circumstances, DSPs may be required to report to work to ensure the health and safety of individuals receiving services.
