Supports occur in the person's home, neighborhood, or broader community and are delivered in accordance with the Individual Support Plan (ISP), Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 411-450, and Shangri-La policies and procedures. These services are intended to be flexible and responsive to the person's unique strengths, preferences, and needs.

Knowledge:
Knowledge: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Candidates must have a valid Oregon Driver's License, an acceptable driving record, and must be able to pass a criminal background check. A strong understanding of person-centered planning, alternative communication strategies, the principles of dignity of risk, and the ability to implement trauma-informed support practices is preferred. The DSP must be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning and using current and future electronic documentation systems and workplace technologies.

Supervision Requirements
Substitute Child Care Staff work under the supervision of the Substitute Coordinator in general and under the direction of the Center Director, Program Coordinator, or designated classroom lead staff while working a shift. Substitutes may not be left alone with a group of children or supervise aides unless they meet the qualifications for the position they are temporarily covering and meet all applicable Oregon licensing requirements.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must meet all orientation, initial, and annual training requirements as established by the State of Oregon and VHFLC policy.

Emergency Response:

General Staff Qualifications:
A staff member providing services to an individual must meet the following qualifications:
Background and Compliance:
o Ability to pass a background check through the Orchard Background Check Unit
and pass periodic driving record checks.
o Must not be listed on the excluded or debarred providers list by the Office of the
Inspector General.
Competency and Experience:
o Competency in handling high-pressure situations.
o Experience in providing general care and support for individuals with
developmental disabilities.
