All residents have open Child and Family Service cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income. The Childcare Parenting Specialist will assist with the Parenting Skills Program, a family centered program, which has the goal of helping parents to provide a healthy and safe environment for their children and to maximize their children's emotional and cognitive development. Harder and a group of caring volunteers opened a location in Brea's Pioneer Hall to provide assistance to a neighbor's child with a disability. Help for Brain Injured Children (HBIC) was born; and so, began the mission of "Giving Hope" to individuals with disabilities and their families. Eventually HBIC settled in a La Habra location and received its official 501(c)3 status in 1972. The Cleta Harder Developmental School (CHDS) was then established and certified by the State of CA Board of Education as a Non-Public School (NPS), followed by the development of The HBIC Adult Day Program (APD) at "Emily's Place." This position is for our DMC funded, residential substance abuse treatment program. Key Responsibilities Monitors client's progress toward achieving treatment plan goals and provides treatment plan input. Utilizes trauma informed care while applying motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices. Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team including the Case Manager, Clinical Therapist, Medical, and Psychiatrist. Maintains frequent communication with the treatment team and engages in regular consults, clinical team, case conferences, and plan development meetings. Delivers services in outpatient treatment setting. Responsible for treatment oversight of the clients on their caseload. Maintains compliance with due dates for all clinical documentation. Writes client progress letters and court reports and obtains final approval from the supervisor. Documentation must maintain in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR, DMH, and SAPC standards. We provide comprehensive substance use disorder, mental health, and psychiatric care by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Treatment episode ranges in time from 60 days to 6 months. Prototypes is a fast-based environment that treats acute care clients. Key Responsibilities Maintaining facility oversight and safety of clients. Regularly assess crisis situations as they arise. Be available to assist clients who have personal problems or sleeplessness. Regularly do rounds through all rooms where to make sure clients are where they are supposed to be. Check all areas in chart room for any filing that may need to be done. Assists with community outings. Monitor medications only as instructed by medical department. Immediately inform Manager on Call of a situation that is necessary and/or could need medical assistance. Document any client activities that arise during the shift. Drug test client s as required.
