They will assist all teacher staff in daily program activities planned for children in assigned groups and assist with the opening, closing and thorough clean-up of the room. They will assist in the daily interaction and supervision of children and maintain relationships with staff, children, parents, volunteers, and community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Actively participate in daily implementation of all program activities. Assist with meeting children at school bus stops, diapering, toileting, meal-time procedures, and all cleaning duties and room arrangements. Alert supervisor regarding any major or unusual problems a child is having with behavior, eating, sleeping and physical health concerns. Clean and sanitize cots, toys, tables, etc. on an as needed basis. Attend and participate in all meetings and training. Responsible to work where staffing is needed, including working with other groups or ages when assigned. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE: Must be at least 16 years of age, enrolled in high school, a high school graduate or GED. Experience with young children either in center care or through informal child care. High School classes in child development are desirable. Must have written recommendation from current teacher/instructor.
