Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years old, have reliable transportation and schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends if needed. Duties and Responsibilities: Always monitor the whereabouts of assigned resident during your shift. When resident exits their room, you are to go with them to their desired destination (i.e. Walk about facility, attend activities, dining room for meals, etc.) If resident tries to touch another resident, you are to intervene immediately by redirecting them or the other resident away from the situation. If resident is in their room, you are to be in the chair directly across the hall, having direct supervision of the resident. If they want to close the door to their room, you are to open it and check on the resident every 15 minutes. You will be relieved for breaks/lunch. You can not leave until someone is there to take your place. If you need a bathroom break, then you can ask another employee that is in the hallway or at nurses' station to take your place while away. When family comes to visit, and they want privacy they can shut the door to the room. If the family would like to walk around the facility with the resident, you must be within eyesight of the resident. At no time are you to provide direct 1-1 care unless you are certified as a nursing assistant or a nurse.
