DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and assist in the evaluation and assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning for each individual.
Provide directcare, training and supervision to the individuals as prescribed in each IPP and provided for in the Facility Program Design and Training Schedule.
Comply with facility policies and regulations.
Provide for the physical care, training, supervision and recreation of residents.

Education and Experience: Must meet Title 17 and Title 22 requirements. Skills and Abilities: Maturity and ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, poise, friendliness, and sensitivity. Sympathetic and objective understanding of individuals with mental, emotional and developmental disabilities. Must be able to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., approximately three (3) times per week. Must be able to navigate several flights of stairs during each work shift. Ability to drive in heavy traffic and inclement weather.
Mental Abilities: Ability to think clearly and manage multiple changing priorities, and remain pleasant and positive. Requires critical thinking and ability to manage difficult population. Requires good judgment.
License Required: Become a registered behavior technician (RBT) within sixty days for a lead DSP or twelve months of initial employment for a DSP; or be either a licensed psychiatric technician; or a qualified behavior modification professional.

Job Description
The direct support professional will work closely with the House Manager in carrying out the individual program plans for residents in the Hatikvah residential home, preparing them to live independently if they are able and so choose. This will include assisting them with reading, math, budgeting and money management, the use of community resources, hygiene and laundry skills, food preparation, house keeping, kitchen safety and maintenance, and travel training in the community. Additional duties may be designated by the House Manager.

CCO is hiring dependable, responsible, and caring directcare staff also known as caregivers or Teaching Counselors, to work with the individuals we serve. We have permanent (not “on call”) Day and Night positions. We provide extensive, ongoing paid training and 24/7 support as you assist the individuals we serve. You will become certified as a Teaching Counselor within the Family Teaching Model.
