Main Duties:
Properly document In-Home Usage Tests as instructed in the In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedule (screenshots, audio recordings, videos, product journal entries, etc.)
Take care of the product being tested and use it responsibly
Read and strictly follow the In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedule provided with each product testing project (may include tasks such as unpacking, reading instructions, journal entries, online or mobile feedback, usage of product for a certain amount of time, writing reviews, taking pictures, etc.)
Some In-Home Usage Tests projects may require participants to use MFour's Mobile In-Home Use Test Technology (cutting-edge smartphone technology to capture Point-of-Emotion insights to gain unparalleled depth of responses)
There are times when the product being tested may be discussed in a private chat room that is opened by a market research firm
Write reviews as requested in the In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedule for each project

Work Environment/Conditions: DSPs work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the individuals in program services. The environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions and deadlines. DSPs need to be flexible and be able to adjust to changing needs, activities and locations. DSPs may be exposed to blood and bodily fluids. DSPs must be able to tolerate tobacco smoke and/or pet dander based on the individual being supported. DSPs must have an insured, safe vehicle in good working order to utilize for incidental transportation required for staff and program participants to and from community activities.

When working at a vocational site, staff are required to provide support to prepare individuals development of vocational, recreational, and social skills, to apply them to various situations according to their Individual Service Plan/ISP.
Ensures that each individuals needs are met, including personal care, mealtime, medication administration/assistance, equipment adaptations, daily household chores and errands, vocational opportunities, and transportation.
Assist in developing a positive living and work environment by being proactive and preventing behaviors.
Supports each individuals physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
Communication: Encourages and maintains good communication with co-workers, families, school, and work settings, neighbors, and community contacts.
Represents C&J Tender Heart R.S. in a positive and professional manner.
Recordkeeping: Maintains complete and accurate records regarding individuals progress, health problems, services, program implementation, incident reports, financial transactions, and household operations. Comply and submit information and reports specific to the employee's department.
Must be able to handle money and financial transactions, such as balance a check, a checkbook, fill out expense forms and maintain receipts and records.
Housekeeping: Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks as required
Ensures sufficient food and household supplies are kept on hand, as appropriate to setting and reports other needs as necessary. Effectively and respectfully communicates with individuals within the agency as well as those in the community.
Staff Development and Training: Conduct staff meetings and in-service training to continue to develop and share job-related skills. May assist in the training of other staff.
Scheduling: Direct Support Specialist DSS will be scheduled with the flexibility between work sites to best meet the needs of the individuals receiving services. Staff will be trained and required to work in any area they are assigned to.
Medical Appointment DSS Additional Responsibilities: Schedules, transports, and attends individuals medical appointments, tests, and/or procedures. Schedules follow-ups as needed.
Identifies and organizes items needed for approaching appointments, including documentation, premedication, known consents, and ensures availability and completion prior to appointments.
Follows all C&J Tender Heart R.S. transportation policies and procedures whether transporting in a C&J Tender Heart vehicle or in the employees personal vehicle.
Reports any maintenance issues or concerns.
Report all accidents and traffic violations.
Complete required daily paperwork.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must be at least 18 years of age.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma/G.E.D. required; previous experience in a care giving.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, programs, medication charts, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, individuals programs, and correspondence. Ability to speak one on one, with families/others in the community and before co-workers in a small group setting.
Mathematical Skills: Money management, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems in a variety of situations using a common approach. Ability to make good judgments.
Other Requirements and Skills: The employee is responsible for maintaining a valid drivers license and a safe driving record to maintain insurability. The employee is responsible for successfully completing all training required to maintain compliance with regulations. The employee must maintain First Aid/CPR certification and successfully complete and maintain the medication administration training required for the area in which they work.
