All Animal Services employees work in the animal shelter where temperamental and dangerous animals are housed, and should expect to come into contact with animals that may bite, kick, or scratch on a regular basis. Employees are regularly exposed to loud noises, unpleasant odors, chemicals, cleaning agents, and soaps. Employees are regularly exposed to animals that may be diseased, as well as fur, pet dander, and zoonotic diseases. Direct Support Professionals
at Haven View play a vital role in the day-to-day care, support, and personal development of the individuals we serve. Your primary responsibility is to provide compassionate, high-quality care to clients while ensuring their health, safety, and overall well-being. You will assist with daily living activities, implement care plans, and maintain accurate documentation. As a Direct Support Professional, you are responsible for supporting the individuals we serve by promoting independence, dignity, and respect.
Expectations:
As a Direct Support Professional member, your primary focus is the health, safety, and overall well-being of the clients in your care. You are expected to provide high-quality support while fostering a positive, respectful, and empowering environment.
You are responsible for completing all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that the care provided is properly tracked and communicated to supervisors.
Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude at all times, especially in challenging situations. Your role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to the dignity and independence of every client you support.
Be proactive in addressing any concerns related to client care or program operations, and communicate these concerns promptly to your program manager.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in caregiving, direct support, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.
Must pass a background check and maintain all required certifications, including CPR/First Aid.
Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

The Comforted Kitty is contracting with independent cat sitters in the Salt Lake City metro area. This is a 1099 independent contractor role (not W-2). You choose your availability and service area; we match you with clients based on fit and demand.
What You'll Do
Provide in-home cat sitting for drop-ins and overnights
Follow client instructions precisely: food, water, litter, enrichment
Support meds when applicable (based on your skill level and comfort)
Keep the home tidy + handle small tasks (mail, plants, trash)
Send updates after each visit (notes + photos) via our app
Service Types
Drop-in visits: 30 / 45 / 60 minutes (1-3x daily)
Overnights: 10-hour stays in the client's home
24-hour live-in care: overnight + staying in client's home most of daytime

Client visit windows typically include:
Morning (6a-12p)

Requirements (Read Carefully - Screening)
Must have:
18+ and cat care experience (professional not required, but real experience is)
A smartphone with reliable internet + camera (updates are required)
Ability to pass a background check and provide references
Strong written communication and responsiveness
Professionalism entering and working in clients' homes
Strongly preferred:
Medication experience (oral meds, injections, fluids) and/or Pet First Aid/CPR
Availability during peak times (especially winter holidays)
