Responsibilities
Attends to the personal care of residents living in the residential facility. Assists in the planning and coordination of daily activities to facilitate development of living skills for residents.
Conducts daily activities to assist in the development of living skills, consistent with the residents' Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals
Assists in the administration and monitoring of medications, which may include suppositories.
Provides personal care for residents which may include assistance with eating, personal hygiene, showering, restroom assistance, and preparing for bedtime.
Assists in care and cleaning of residential home, which includes laundering & ironing of residents' clothing.
Assists and/or prepares meals in compliance with dietary restrictions; assists individuals to eat, including those who may require assistance with G-tube feeding.
Transports individuals to health care appointments and other various locations.
Completes all necessary reports and documentation on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Drivers licenses required.
1 to 2 years' experience preferred, or equivalent combination of training, education and personal experience to perform the job successfully.
DSP-I and DSP-II Certification will be required either upon hire or shortly after
Valid CPR, CPI and First Aid Certifications.
Ability to communicate well orally and in writing; Ability to interpret and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills; Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality pertaining to the work environment.
Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis.
Able to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
Ability to travel locally with vehicle appropriate for the transportation of residents; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards. Must possess and maintain proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
Ability to provide assistance with personal care to residents and to transfer an individual who has no weight bearing skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to push/pull wheelchairs on a variety of terrain.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of embedded microprocessors (ARM Cortex, RISC V).
• Experience with Git source code control and build/release procedures.
• Must adhere to established coding guidelines and practices.

DSP II Essential Responsibilities:
Provides individualized coaching in daily living skills
Assists with daily needs/tasks within persons supported home
Provides education and support in the use of community resources
Maintains accurate and current records in individuals' communication logs regarding information relevant to Individual Service Plans (ISP)
Supports and assists persons supported in following their daily activity schedule including household meal preparation, maintaining sanitary and orderly conditions in their home, other household tasks, budgeting, ledgers, and transportation, as necessary
Prompts and assists persons supported in medication management
Teaches adaptive living skills and monitors the extent to which they are followed
Assists participants in all aspects of personal care, including hygiene and medical/dental appointments

Participate actively in team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing professional development trainings.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
A minimum of one year of direct, hands-on experience working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities and challenging behaviors is required. Experience in high-intensity behavioral support or 2:1 settings is highly preferred.
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a caring demeanor.
Proven ability to effectively manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors.

Ability to obtain or possession of a current health screening and TB test prior to employment.

We are actively seeking candidates to assist PALS program participants in the areas where assistance is needed. This depends purely on the requirements of each individual. The ideal candidate should be patient, kind, and, whenever possible, allow participants to complete the tasks independently. Our services include daily activities, self-care, community transportation, interpersonal skills, communication, and work skills, but not limited to such. The candidate should be able to establish interactions with the participants and build confidence.
Experience and Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum one year of experience
Demonstrate strength of character
Essential Functions:
Ensure that participants receive attentive care and assistance throughout the workday
Utilize transportation, walk, or any other means to navigate activities in the community
Complete daily individual information, including person-centered learning logs, progress charts, and SIR reports, and report it to the PALS program management team in a timely manner
Participate in PALS monthly staff trainings, as well as other trainings that may be recurring or arranged online, upon request
Required:
Reliable transportation
Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
Must pass Background Check
Must pass TB Clearance Test, Drug Test, and Physical Test
