Job Description
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver Float provides direct care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) within supported living homes in Eugene/Springfield. This is a full time, permanent position. Schedule for shifts subjected to change based on needs of programs, however schedules are given two weeks in advance
This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes.
What You'll Do
Enrich and support the lives of our residents in the supported living program while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Prepare meals and snacks.
Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
Assist with transportation needs for community outings, appointments, and errands
Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalating challenging behaviors when needed.

Perform personal care activities with all residents as needed including but not limited to: personal hygiene care, brushing teeth, brushing hair, bathing/showering, toileting, changing adult incontinence pads, feeding (oral and gastric tube-
