Meet the Team
Join our team at Acacia, where we design advanced optical transceivers for high-speed fiber optic transmission in data centers and telecommunication networks. We're seeking enthusiastic, experienced individuals to work on the forefront of fiber optic technology. You'll be part of the team developing Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Forward Error Correction (FEC) algorithms for our optical transceivers' Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). Collaboration with colleagues from the DSP and ASIC teams is key to optimizing performance and power efficiency. You'll contribute to system design, develop architectures, and support ASIC design and verification. Work closely with colleagues across various fields and gain diverse knowledge in optical system testing, analog components, modeling, and more.
Your Impact
With your expertise in DSP for coherent optical transceivers, FEC, and modeling, you help the team to develop the next generation of low-power and high-performance coherent transceivers. Here are some examples of possible topics:
* Invent, simulate and validate new DSP or FEC algorithms (both in floating-point and fixed-point precision) to improve performance and functionality or lower power consumption
* Test and optimize these algorithms on actual hardware and correlate performance with previous simulations
* Develop models of analog RF and optical components and evaluate system performance with these models
* Analyze performance of developed transceiver modules and update models and simulation environments to accurately match the measured results
Minimum Qualifications:
Typically: Bachelors + 15 years of related experience, or Masters + 12 years of related experience, or PhD + 8 years of related experience
* + 10 years of industry experience in related fields.
* Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and/or Forward Error Correction (FEC) for coherent optical communications.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Ducks Unlimited (DU) is an American nonprofit conservation organization 501(c) with a mission to conserve, restore, and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. This mission closely parallels the goals and mission of one of DU's biggest partners, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and specifically their conservation easement programs administered through the Farm Bill. The NRCS's Agriculture Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), and the Emergency Watershed Protection Program Floodplain Easements (EWPP-FPE) restore and conserve thousands of acres of wetland and grassland habitat each year. In partnership with NRCS, DU is assisting NRCS with the delivery of conservation easement programs to increase NRCS's capacity to meet growing funding levels. These positions will be home-officed; however, they will be expected to travel for team meetings and training held by DU and NRCS as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Conservation Easement Boundary Support Staff position will be responsible for helping NRCS in coordination with their Easement Programs Division (EPD) staff in the review and assessment easement boundary survey deliverables and plotting legal descriptions from ownership documents, as well as assisting with the implementation of easement projects in the States they are assigned. Positions will provide service to multiple States by working with EPD teams and their DU team leader. This position requires someone that is detail oriented, highly organized, has a background in legal land surveying or related field, possesses exceptional communication skills, and is highly motivated to be a part of a large-scale conservation effort.
As part of the US-Held easement acquisition process, the boundary of the easement area must be delineated in a manner that is suitable for recording in the public record. This position will provide technical assistance to NRCS staff to ensure that easement boundaries are completed and digitized according to the NRCS easement program's land survey specifications, NRCS policy, and State statute, rules, and standards of practice. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist NRCS in the preparation of documents to obtain legal boundary surveys, including independent cost estimates. NRCS Staff will handle the contracting process.
Assist NRCS in plotting (drawing land ownership and overlaying proposed easement shapefile) boundaries in AUTOCAD (Civil 3D),based on legal descriptions provided in ownership or title documents.
Assist NRCS in drawing legal descriptions from deeds to verify power lines, accretion lands, exceptions, and grazing rights.
Ensure the final shapefile deliverables are complete and meet all requirements and specifications to upload to the National Easement Geodatabase upon the easement closing.
Assist in the re-establishment survey processes as requested by EPD, including checking re-establishment survey deliverables for meeting NRCSS land survey specifications.
Set up cost estimate forms and prepare estimates & review the cost estimates to prepare the NRCS contracting officer representative for negotiating the final contract costs.
Review preliminary survey deliverables and communicate revisions based on preliminary review using developed processes and forms.
Conduct a final review of land survey deliverables to ensure that it accurately and correctly describes the area of enrollment and satisfies the requirements of the land survey specifications; communicate with NRCS and the survey or regarding revisions based on final survey review.
Provide NRCS with a report documenting the status of the legal boundary reviews.
The applicant should be highly motivated to be a part of a large-scale conservation effort and team that includes real estate specialists, land title experts, and biologists. These positions will be home-officed; however, they will be expected to travel for team meetings and training held by DU and NRCS as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate should have a 2-year technical degree in a related field, but B.S. is preferred. Relevant experience in the engineering field of 5-10 years is preferred. Preferred candidates must have an extensive knowledge of boundary surveying and surveying processes. The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to think strategically, manage multiple assignments with different deadlines, and adopt new approaches in response to changing circumstances. The candidate must be willing and able to travel as needed, including some overnight travel. This position will consist of office work; no fieldwork will be required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of general survey practices and procedures.
Extensive knowledge of GIS software and the ability to import and manipulate shapefiles.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Key Responsibilities
Develop Core Communication Services: Build and maintain backend services for voice/video calling (signaling servers, call routing logic, media gateways) using SIP and WebRTC. Implement features like call setup, conferencing, transfers, and recording with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
Enhance Audio Quality (DSP): Implement and tune digital signal processing algorithms for superior call audio. This includes noise suppression, echo cancellation, jitter buffer optimization, and voice activity detection to ensure crystal-clear, uninterrupted communication even on poor networks.
Optimize Media & Codecs: Work with real-time media streaming (RTP) and various codecs (Opus, G.711, H.264, etc.). Optimize codec configurations and adapt bitrates on the fly based on network conditions to balance quality and bandwidth.
Integrate Voice AI Features: Embed speech-to-text (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities into the platform. Enable AI voice agents to participate in calls by streaming audio to AI services and injecting synthesized speech responses. Manage conversation flow between humans and AI (handling interruptions, timing responses) to make interactions feel natural.
Ensure Scalability & Resilience: Design services with a cloud-native approach (microservices, containers) for deployment on Kubernetes. Implement high-availability strategies (clustering, failover) across global data centers so that the platform achieves five-9s uptime with no downtime for maintenance.
Performance & Reliability Tuning: Continuously profile and improve system performance end-to-end. Minimize call setup times and audio latency through efficient coding (C/C++ for media processing) and system optimizations.
DevOps & Support: Use CI/CD pipelines to deploy updates safely with zero downtime. Write comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, load) for your features. Participate in on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in real time, and implement lasting solutions to prevent recurrence.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, front-end teams, AI/ML team and with network engineers.
Qualifications
Real-Time Communications: 5+ years of experience developing VoIP or real-time communication systems. Strong knowledge of SIP protocol, WebRTC, and related networking (RTP, NAT traversal). Proven ability to implement call logic and troubleshoot signaling and media issues.
Audio/DSP Expertise: Hands-on experience with audio processing in real time. Familiarity with noise reduction, echo cancellation, jitter buffers, and other voice QoS techniques. Comfort optimizing or using audio codecs (Opus, G.711, etc.) and improving call quality under varying network conditions.
Strong Coding Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ for high-performance, multi-threaded systems programming. Experience writing efficient, low-latency code (lock-free structures, memory management). Additionally, skilled with a higher-level language like Go or Java for building microservices and control logic.
Cloud & Scalability: Experience building and deploying services in a cloud-native environment (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of designing scalable microservices and using cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for load balancing, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
Voice AI Familiarity: Exposure to integrating speech recognition and text-to-speech in applications. You've perhaps worked with voice assistants, IVR systems, or call center AI - you understand basic latency/accuracy trade-offs and how to interface with speech APIs/SDKs.
Security & Compliance: Basic understanding of securing voice communications (TLS, SRTP) and safeguarding customer data (GDPR, HIPAA considerations for call recordings, etc.). Designs solutions with privacy and security best practices in mind.
DevOps Mindset: Comfortable using CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and logging/monitoring tools. Willing to take ownership of code in production - debugging live issues, optimizing resource usage, and responding to incidents.

Provide follow up and short-term case management with clients to identify goals related to their financial and housing stability (i.e. budgeting tool, employment resources, debt management, help with accessing public assistance programs, etc.).
Provide appropriate service coordination in response to intake and goals, either through connecting to services within 360 Communities or through a referral basis to outside programs and agencies.
Follow all funding requirements and guidelines to ensure stewardship of funds made available to 360 Communities clients.
Ensure seamless communication with other agency programs (Violence Prevention services, Partners for Success , etc.) regarding families accessing services through 360 Communities Housing Support Services, to ensure holistic services to children, families and individuals.
Identify service barriers and work to remove them through engagement of the community and linking to formal and informal supports.
Follow mandated reporting laws for child abuse and neglect.
Maintain safety and security by following all safety and security procedures and communicate appropriately.
