Responsible for developing and leading at least two weekly workshops such as Self-Care and Introduction to Computer Class Complete participants' daily progress report. Assist in training of new Staff. Assist all Staff in planning and development of community-based activities. Plan and create activities that are aligned with a person-centered plan (PCP). Assist participants to meet individual goals and objectives as outlined in their Individualized Program Plan (IPP) reflecting PCP. Network and build relationships with surrounding community to increase Center resources. Represent LSSSC in community, church, and/or interagency activities. Participate in community collaborations/networks for the purposes of mutual referrals and resources. Engage in program development supervision and report all program matters to the Manager. . The Tustin Family Campus program is an 18 month residential treatment program serving 15 mothers with up to 32 children. All residents have open Child and Family Service cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income. The Childcare Parenting Specialist will assist with the Parenting Skills Program, a family centered program, which has the goal of helping parents to provide a healthy and safe environment for their children and to maximize their children's emotional and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the Child Care Parenting Specialist are as followed: Provide 1:1 counseling to each client, introducing behavioral approaches to child guidance. Complete clear concise and timely documentation. Facilitate regularly scheduled activities to promote mother/child bonding such as Mommy and Me Groups, story telling, music groups, arts and crafts. Facilitate Evidence Based Curriculum groups such as Nurturing Parents and Strengthening Familes. Oversee and provide guidance to mothers who are assigned to childcare duties as part of their program activities. Assist mothers in obtaining safe, quality off-site child care when required, while still in residence or exiting from the program. Assist mothers with school communications, parent teacher meetings, IEP's. Assist mothers in locating transportation to and from school as required. Participate in team and staff meetings and in-service training. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend hours are required. Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities BA degree in Human Development, Early Childhood Education, or comparable subject matter. 4 years experience in a child care setting can be substituted for the education requirement. Experience working in a residential treatment environment preferred. California Driver's License required with proof of insurance.
