Qualcomm is looking for software engineers to develop embedded platform software for CPU and DSP/NPU processors and hardware engines comprising its SoC portfolio for mobile, automotive, compute, and other markets. In this role you will utilize your solid foundation in embedded software development, operating systems, and drivers to deploy platform software for complex AI and multimedia and use cases running on our SoC's.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, and 2+ years experience in:
• Programming in C/C++
• Operating Systems and multi-threaded programming
• Hardware drivers
• Developing, debugging, profiling, and optimizing for embedded real-time environments.

The ideal candidate has significant experience in C/C++ programming, real-time operating systems, driver development, and computer architecture, and has successfully optimized software on resource-constrained platforms. Experience with PCIe or Windows MCDM/WDDM driver stacks is a plus.
As part of the AI Infra team, you will work on software at all levels of the stack that enables DSP acceleration for AI inference, computer vision, video/audio processing, and more. Key responsibilities include:
Designing, and developing multi-processor multimedia and AI frameworks that span across CPU, DSP, and NPU.
Developing high-performance drivers and runtime libraries to unlock the full potential of specialized DSP and AI hardware.
Profiling and optimizing system performance, applying knowledge of advanced DSP architecture and microarchitecture-level optimizations to achieve low latency and low power.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (hardware, tools, and firmware) to evaluate design trade-offs and incorporate custom instructions or features that improve performance.
Integrating and testing software on target devices; working closely with global teams and occasionally with OEM customers and partners to support commercialization.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits
$111,300.00 - $166,900.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm, which also includes an annual discretionary bonus program and potential RSU grants.
