Position Overview DFYF is seeking an energetic and creative After-school Recreation Coordinator to join our after-school and summer programs. The Recreation Coordinator will oversee recreational and fitness programming, engage youth in structured activities, and teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and communication skills. Activities may include basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, and other age-appropriate games. This role requires: Working with youth ages 8-18. Leading small groups using lesson plans. Completing daily documentation and maintaining basic computer records. Participating in team meetings and occasional special events. Program Hours: After-school: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM Summer Program: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health, Fitness, or related field preferred. Experience facilitating fitness activities and working with youth required. Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. The role of the Family Specialist is to provide family support services, case management, and collaboration with assigned child-care facilities as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards. The collaborative relationship between childcare facilities and DFYF serves as a means for recruitment and identification of families in need of EHS services. Family Specialists work directly with their clients and their families in their homes, community, and at the childcare facility where their clients are enrolled. Essential functions: Family Specialists will recruit and enroll children in the EHS program and ensure that EHS program services and community resources are available to enrolled children and their families. Complete a Family Assessment, establish and monitor goals of enrolled families. Collaboration with parents to ensure access to community resources are seamless. Collaboration with Child Care Centers and program partners in order to coordinate services for each family. Work with families to ensure that medical, dental exams and treatments are complete through linkage Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and parent meetings as required to deliver and coordinate agency services. Position overview: Directions for Youth and Families is seeking an energetic and creative individual to be a part of our After-School program and fill the position of part-time Food Service Specialist. This position is responsible for preparing and /or facilitating the preparation of daily meals and snacks for afterschool youth participants. Duties include set-up, stocking, and preparing food in accordance with DFYF healthy meal plans, ensuring cleanliness, proper safety procedures, and organizing kitchen, walk in coolers and storage areas. The Food Service Specialist must comply with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and follow established food production programs and procedures. The specialist is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to ensure all good efficiently used. Essential functions: Weekly Shopping for and preparing all foods served using established production, procedures and systems. Determines amount & type of food/supplies required for established menu's Weekly inventory of supplies & food Sets up proper serving portions of food for distribution Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques Stores food properly, safely and with proper date & item markings and perform daily temp. checks of refrigerator & freezer Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor/program manager. Maintain daily production reports Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders Plans food production to coordinate with serving hours to provide excellence in quality, temperature and appearance of food Competencies: Excellent collaboration & communication Skills Customer/client Focus Time Management/flexibility Ability to work well under pressure Price conscious Work environment: Employee will frequently be exposed to extreme heat and noise.
