This Director of International Development, Principal & Major Gifts will:

+ Manage an international prospect pool of approximately 50-100 individuals capable of making gifts of $100,000 or more; cultivates, solicits, and closes numerous six and seven-figure gifts in a complex environment.

+ Build and deepen productive relationships with donors and prospects, primarily focusing on Latin America. International and occasional national travel is required.

+ Manage and initiate all activity in alignment with moves management principles and institutional priorities.

+ Develop creative stewardship and meaningful engagement plans, and persistently seek connections to new prospects to qualify interest and capacity, and to build pipeline.

+ Under the direction of the AVP for Principal & Major Gifts, develop annual operating plan and achieve revenue, activity and pipeline goals.

+ Build and nurture effective working relationships with senior management, department chiefs, clinicians, researchers, and volunteer leadership to identify funding needs, prepare the case for support, identify prospects and donors, and solicit major gifts.

+ Recruit, train and manage volunteer leaders to help identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors. Work in collaboration with volunteer leadership to host virtual and in-person donor events to help grow the international philanthropic community.

+ Collaborate with colleagues throughout the Trust to assure that prospects are identified, researched, and engaged in the most effective way possible.

+ Prepare letters, proposals, reports, acknowledgments, case materials briefings, and donor correspondence, planning specific communication for each donor from various high-level leaders in the institution.

+ Develop an understanding of the breadth of research, clinical, teaching, and community service programs of Children's Hospital and its departments. Keeps Principal & Major Gifts team apprised of key updates/changes.

To qualify, you must have:

+ BA degree plus a minimum 8 years of progressive experience in fundraising and/or development.

+ Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit and close six and seven-figure gifts in a complex environment.

+ Excellent communication skills (written as well as verbal and interpersonal) and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

+ Fluency in Spanish and other languages preferred.

+ Strong leadership, persuasion and negotiation skills.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple task in a highly complex and changing environment.

+ Must have a strong commitment to excellence and display a high level of responsiveness to both staff and donor issues.

+ Position requires frequent overnight travel, (up to 30%) and the ability to work weekends as needed.

About the Role:

Harmless Harvest is ready for World Domination! In partnership with the Chief Growth Officer, you will set and implement the international expansion roadmap. In this 360 role, you will own brand strategy and planning, sales, and e-commerce strategy for our initial new country launches. This role will require an individual with a strong commercial lens, who can quickly understand insights and trends for a new market, find ways in with the right broker and distributor partners and embrace and demonstrate Harmless Harvest values in their execution of their day-to-day responsibilities. With a strong passion for brands, consumers and people and a drive for results, this role will work collaboratively with members of Harmless Harvest US and Thailand teams, as well as in-country local team members and partners. You will report to the Chief Growth Officer, based in the US.

What you'll be doing:

Shaping the 3-year international roadmap for expansion, including research, rationale, and recommendations for which countries to launch and when.

Implementing Harmless Harvest's International expansion strategy and organizational structure to launch and sustain growth in multiple geographic regions.

For 2023 launch countries, planning and executing launch including brand and sales strategy, operations planning and organizational planning.

Managing project timelines for all new countries, including interfacing with Harmless Harvest US and Thai teams.

Advising and selecting external regional partners such as brokers and distributors and serving as their key point of contact. Owns budget and negotiation with external partners.

Hiring and onboarding new Harmless Harvest country resources as needed.

P&L management for new country launches, including driving budget requirements and managing to targets.

Developing and leading sales channels for new countries, including online e-commerce and offline customers.

Leading Harmless Harvest marketing/ branding projects (i.e. media campaigns/ promotions/ PR/ influencer campaigns), as well as supporting brand's content creation efforts, and offline exposure events.

Analyzing and reporting market performance for each country, providing insights into key drivers and regularly presenting the Harmless Harvest Leadership Team.

Continuously driving business growth to meet brand's targets for short-term and long-term sales and profit

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 8-11 years of relevant experience in Brand Management, Business Development or Sales, MBA preferred

Strong experience in CPG; food and beverage experience a plus

Experience launching new Brands and Products domestically or launching US brands abroad; international experience a plus

Experience managing partners and agencies

Strategic thinking, with a capacity to combine everyday tactical activities with long-term plans

Strong entrepreneurial skills, self-motivated and creative

Highly organized, able to influence at all levels

Ability to work in diverse and multicultural environments with strong cross functional communication skills
