This is a remote opportunity based in Columbia, SC, to work at the statehouse. This position supports both our Greenville, SC, market and Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC. Travel will be expected to both of those locations.
Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Director of Government and External Relations will manage successful statewide relations at all levels of government and among community leaders, state trade associations and other external constituents of importance to implement the state and federal public policy and advocacy agenda of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) within the State of South Carolina. The Director will report to the System Chief Advocacy & Government Relations Officer while supporting the priorities of internal CEOs in Greenville and in Charleston to effectively advocate and manage external relations with statewide influence. In addition, engaging internal subject matter experts across the spectrum of BSMH is essential. This will ensure an evidence-based approach to developing legislative, regulatory and community solutions on matters such as public program funding for patient care and workforce development affecting clinical operations and external relations priorities across the State of South Carolina.
Essential Job Functions
Support system-wide legislative, regulatory and advocacy priorities in the State of South Carolina through effective internal and external relations management, including, but not limited to community leaders, trade associations, and government officials. The Director will serve on the Advocacy & Government Relations Committee and Government Reimbursement Council at the system level while developing a strategic statewide vision to achieve goals and objectives that are reflective of the communities we serve and support the current and future needs of BSMH throughout the State of South Carolina.
Manage government relations/advocacy agenda on a statewide basis as directed and ensure implementation of system and local priorities in Greenville and in Charleston with internal key stakeholders.
Foster and influence relationships throughout the state and in concert with internal regional stakeholders that result in favorable legislative & regulatory outcomes and build strategic alliances to augment external reputational management and system growth.
Enhance Bon Secours Mercy Health's public reputation as a relied upon and trusted resource by identifying public and private sector community-based interfaces and partnerships throughout our service areas.
Provide legislative, regulatory and health industry intelligence to inform strategic impact analyses in concert with internal content experts that lead to politically viable solutions for the future success of our health system.
Identify opportunities to coordinate appropriate Advocacy interface with internal Mission, Foundation, Community Health and Marketing/Communication leader(s) in regional coalitions and partnerships, and to assure adequate representation of the ministry on related issues in the communities we serve.
Create effective grass-tops and grassroots support and mobilization, and strong trade association and business organization relations with an emphasis on those organizations where BSMH personnel serve in a board or committee capacity.
Identify opportunities to organize grass-tops network and mobilize internal grassroots support for legislative and advocacy issues when appropriate.
Champion internal process to develop action plan for executive and clinician engagement on government matters, as well as governmental, industry trade / business organization, and community boards of interest.
Partner with internal Foundation personnel to identify local, state and federal grant opportunities to address various community health needs.
Lead and manage local market / regional Advocacy outreach in Greenville and in Charleston through education and lobbying strategies with designated internal personnel to realize a positive impact and favorable outcome for legislative & regulatory policy issues and external relations more broadly.
Maintain registration as a state lobbyist on behalf of BSMH and ensure compliance of all related reporting requirements.

Expected Salary: This position offers a base salary range of $115,000 to $140,000 per year, alongside industry-leading benefits such as end-of-year profit sharing and a performance bonus program for eligible employees. Position Summary
The Director of Donor Relations plays a key role in advancing the YMCA's mission by cultivating and stewarding meaningful relationships with individual donors, families, corporations, and community partners. Utilize the Direct Action Organizing method of campaign planning and execution, incorporating grassroots, media advocacy, and other organizational support systems.
Lead efforts in the state to facilitate the advancement of the organization's federal legislative campaigns and priorities, as required.
Ensure the development of positive relationships between the organization and key congressional targets in assigned state.

What We Can Achieve Together:
The Associate Director of Development is responsible for building a portfolio of 100 - 125 qualified donors and developing relationships with major gift prospects, including donors with the capacity to give over $100,000 once the portfolio is developed. They will be responsible for 125 visits and 225 - 375 moves annually. They will have an annual fundraising goal of $500,000 or more, along with a goal for bequest notifications. They understand and apply the principles of developing donor strategies and plans and will foster relationships with donors, connecting donor interests to TNC's projects in Michigan and beyond. They will be responsible for direct asks to both global and local priorities to meet funding needs and they listen for opportunities for gifts of assets or other non-cash gifts, such as planned gifts and trade lands.
The Associate Director of Development provides opportunities for donors to receive recognition and increase future giving. They work closely with the development team and involve appropriate partners in the field and staff at the Worldwide Office, keeping them apprised of interactions, issues or concerns, and direct questions as appropriate. They can feature the programs of the Conservancy in broad terms. They may be responsible for volunteer engagement within formal and/or informal networks. They will be required to use the Conservancy's donor database and may participate in the development of proposals.
The position is a hybrid position that will require at least one day per month to be spent working from the Lansing office. Preference will be given to candidates based in Grand Rapids and western Michigan. The Associate Director of Development is required to travel frequently and as necessary and should expect to spend about 20% of their time out-the-door meeting with donors around the state. In addition, there will also be travel required for organizational meetings and trainings. They will work long, and flexible hours as needed and the work environment may involve infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

Salary Information:

The Career Advisor/Assistant Director of Career & Professional Development Center works under the general direction of the Director of Career & Professional Development Center in the College of Natural Sciences (CNS), to plan and organize career development and experiential learning activities for CNS undergraduates and recent alumni in cooperation with department heads and faculty. Tailored to the needs of departments, these activities may include individual counseling, career education programs, classes, workshops, career fairs, alumni mentoring and shadowing and career research. Works to provide a comprehensive student development program which serves all majors.
Essential Functions
Learns how to counsel and advise individual students and recent alumni; evaluates level of career preparedness using assessment techniques; advises students about career options related to their interests and qualifications, provides guidance on jobs/internships and other experiential learning search techniques including use of social media and relevant technology; identifies factors inhibiting career decision-making and makes appropriate referrals.
Assists in enlisting faculty in supporting the career development of their majors; advises colleagues regarding employment and occupational trends and their implications for CNS graduates.
Identifies access and barrier issues limiting the participation and success of students from underrepresented backgrounds in pursuing career advising and collaborates to design and implement steps to advance participation and career success of all students.
Participates in regularly scheduled unit and college meetings; participates in ongoing professional development.
