Creates accurate conceptual budgets based off minimal information. Reviews all estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotations. Produces project estimates using prescribed forms, industry recognized techniques and TD standardized processes contained in the Construction Process Manual. Partners with architects and engineers to guide and/or lead the design effort. Oversees project turnover for sold projects. Communicates all project issues through the appropriate channels of management in a timely manner. Monitors all addenda, scope changes and bid forms to ensure they are processed and incorporated into the estimate in a timely manner. Provides assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required. Conducts bid-day vendor analysis which includes scope review, quotation analysis and review of subcontractor tabulation worksheets.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
7+ years leadership experience in mechanical construction. Should have experience working for a mechanical contractor.
In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
Must be able to demonstrate strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
Must be able to collect relevant market data to generate new leads.
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.

DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS CONSTRUCTION, Facilities-Campus Services and Stewardship, to oversee and provide strategic direction, strategic vision, leadership, and oversight of staff responsible for the construction, renovation, and renewal of buildings. Will ensure work is tailored to the needs of project stakeholders; consult with academic and administrative leaders to identify goals and manage a range of projects, e.g., new buildings, major renewals to existing buildings, redesigns, and renovations; direct, oversee, coordinate, and/or influence other managers/directors; represent Facilities on committees/task forces/cross-functional teams and to MIT leadership and/or the MIT community; and support and lead efforts with campus partners.

REQUIRED: B.S. in management or engineering; ten years' executive-level management experience in project management, design, and construction with a focus on safety and customer service; experience with oversight accountability for multiple large capital project initiatives (>$200M per year) and smaller renovation and campus renewal activities; experience managing multidisciplinary teams; ability to satisfactorily deliver services to project stakeholders; ability to lead a group of project managers, planners, and other staff in a team-centered organization; proficiency with business application software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint,); knowledge of energy savings, carbon reduction, and sustainability; ability to convey information using language non-technically trained individuals can understand; meticulous attention to detail; data-driven approach to inform decisions; and financial acumen and ability to understand complex budgets and contractual agreements. Seek a collaborative leader with excellent interpersonal skills who is able to develop relationships across MIT, understands the positions of multiple stakeholders, and is flexible when considering solutions and strategy development.
