We are inviting entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented leaders with a passion for leveraging corporate relations strategies to engage organizations in social justice and racial equity work to apply for our Director, Corporate Relations role.
You will contribute to the annual growth of revenue by successfully identifying trends in corporate relations and corporate social responsibility that can be leveraged to increase fundraising for UWGLA programs.
You will have the unique opportunity to evaluate the intersections of UWGLA's current revenue channels from corporations, corporate foundations, employee donors, and community capital and design integration strategies that facilitate increased fundraising across all channels.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE TO THE CAUSE Strategic Planning o Develop an overarching workplace partnership plan structure that coalesces a range of UWGLA priorities as investment opportunities strategically positioned to support corporate partners in achieving their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals o Drive the strategy and execution around reimaging corporate partnerships and how to engage employees through workplace campaigns, and as individuals to support the work of United Way o Serve on the Strategic Partnerships leadership team and contribute to the overall direction of the department. Workplace Giving o Set the ongoing vision, strategy, and implementation of UWGLA's relationship- and issue-based workplace giving plan as a motivator for increased corporate engagement and giving o Contribute to the execution Centennial fundraising campaign celebrating the 100th anniversary of UWGLA o Oversee the development and implementation of Workplace Ambassador training and engagement to create cohorts of embedded mission evangelists in the workplace o Oversee employee giving campaigns and create meaningful growth through best practice strategies to grow participation and average gifts o Reimagine ways to engage individuals in the workplace channel to drive new levels of giving Corporate Relations o In collaboration with the VP, Strategic Partnerships, pursue unique opportunities for six and seven-figure contributions from our top 40 corporate partners o Expand UWGLA's existing universe of corporate partners to include new industries and connect with untapped philanthropy and social impact venture dollars o Serve as the key relationship owner and liaison to United Way's corporate partners by aggregating and facilitating all internal solicitations across departments and programs Internal Partnerships & Collaboration o Support the execution of a sponsorship fundraising strategy o Work across divisions to establish solicitation, recognition, and stewardship strategies for key corporate partnerships o Be a passionate advocate of our mission and be able to advocate amongst our corporate partners and their employees Team Management & Development o Build a team of passionate advocates who are strong relationship builders and who have a growth mindset o Mentor and coach a diverse team of fundraisers to grow skillsets, support individual professional development goals, and inspire team members to both lead and follow o Provide direct but respectful constructive feedback in real-time and during formal review periods to elevate team performance, maintain accountability, and reach goals
WHAT 1 YEAR OF SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Achieve Year 1 Centennial Campaign goals for workplace giving and corporate charitable contributions: $10M of unrestricted revenues secured by the workplace engagement and corporate relations team Successfully solicited top accounts for $2M in corporate charitable gifts Deployed a corporate relations infrastructure that facilitates incremental growth of financial resources over a 3-year period with tactics including corporate members program, sponsorship plan, grants, and charitable contributions

Position Overview
The Senior Corporate Relations Director at The Tech Interactive serves the organization’s mission of inspiring the innovator in everyone through relationships with corporations. We raise funds to support internal and external educational priorities, general operating, scholarships and exhibits through a proactive process of identifying, initiating and managing relationships with corporations.
The Senior Corporate Relations Director will craft and lead a strategic plan focused on building and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with corporations for supporting the mission of The Tech Interactive. This position acts as a community face of The Tech, actively networking at community events and building partnerships with key corporate leaders. The Senior Corporate Relations Director engages and works with various partners within the organization, board members and volunteers.
Other duties include being the primary development staff on The Tech Challenge (a year long youth engineering program), working with the executive committee to recruit corporate sponsors. The Senior Corporate Relations Director builds and cultivates meaningful relationships with high level executives from companies who will come together to financially support The Tech while reaching out to others to do the same. The Senior Corporate Relations Director is considered an outside sales director, and prospector for new business.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as the primary corporate relations officer for a portfolio of top corporate relationships for The Tech Interactive. Manage this portfolio through all phases of the relationship cycle, including identification of opportunities, discovery meetings with executives, strategy development, cultivation meetings, proposal preparation, closing and stewarding gifts. Understand a corporation’s capacity for support, existing corporate relationships with The Tech, and how corporate priorities align with The Tech. Work closely with corporate staff/leadership, The Tech’s Board of Directors, and The Tech’s staff/leadership to develop projects to bring to corporations. Identify and develop relationships with new and existing corporations. Initiate face to face visits with corporate personnel at their location and at The Interactive; coordinate and prepare briefings for these visits for appropriate Tech staff, volunteers, and leadership. Debrief and follow-up after such visits. Work independently as well as in partnership with the others to compose, edit, and/or coordinate written materials, including proposals and budgets. Ensure that appropriate stewardship is conducted in connection with awards and participate directly in the stewardship process as appropriate. Consult with and educate volunteers/staff in corporate fundraising. Coach and assist The Tech leadership, volunteers and staff directly in implementing strategies along with proposal writing and preparation. Help staff identify potential corporate support for projects that are high priority initiatives. Be The Tech’s expert on corporate fundraising for operating, scholarships, exhibits and other capital projects. Collaborate with the development team to meet The Tech’s overall corporate relations needs. Staff The Tech Challenge Executive Committee to ensure members are informed and provided necessary resources to help open doors to new sponsors. Supervise Corporate Relations Director.
Key Qualifications:
5 years of relevant experience in corporate fundraising with demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals. Prior experience developing and implementing successful strategies. Ability to inspire passion for the mission of The Tech Interactive. Demonstrated ability to initiate and carry out successful meetings with C-level executives within Silicon Valley companies. Proven ability to network in the community through attendance at community events i.e.: Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Silicon Valley Business Journal, etc. Always looking to initiate opportunities for corporate partnerships. Prior experience engaging board members and volunteers and executive staff in order to achieve fundraising goals.
