Job DescriptionAssociate Director, Manufacturing Operations Associate Director-Operations Southeast US Region ( MULTI-Site responsibility)

We are currently seeking an experience Operations Leader, located ideally in the VA/TN or NC area to be central to our largest plant facilities, to take on a key role as the manager of operations for 4-5 different plant locations, including direct supervision of operations, Plant Leadership etc.

You will be directly responsible for managing the performance of multiple manufacturing facilities including safety, quality, environmental, production, conversion costs and compliance with divisional and other corporate policies and procedures.

PLEASE NOTE- we would IDEALLY like this role to be based in the BRISTOL, TN, SALISBURY, NC or the MARION, VA plant locations, but they MUST be open to travel, which may be anywhere from 25-50% at any given time.

This role will directly lead and manage Plant Managers for multiple sites based on common products, technologies, and geography, Overseeing staff and ensuring objectives are met, assisting with the hiring/recruiting efforts to identify, attract, hire, and train staff, and ultimately Identifying key talent within the organization and creates development plans for future growth opportunities.
Some of the day to day leadership duties will include:
"Direct reporting responsibilities for Plant Manager(s) of the assigned facilities, and working with the the site PMs on projects including the planning and coordination of specific site major projects including installation of capital, major repairs, plant layout changes, and other needs as identified.

"Training Plant Managers, Production Superintendents and other key management personnel on the effective utilization and availability of plant assets, and safety programs and maintain compliance with all relevant agencies, leading Audits and ensuring the operation of the plants to meets OSHA, EPA regulations and Company standards.

"LEADING Continuous Improvement projects You will lead/direct resources and ensure success of Six Sigma Projects, Profit Improvement Plans, and other cost reduction initiatives

"Team Direction, leadership, evaluation and motivation via periodic performance and communication meetings with all employees to share corporate vision, plant performance status, change management, community involvement activities, training and motivational efforts.

This is a SENIOR leadership role, and ideally, we would need to see candidates with the following under their belt:
"EDUCATION - B.S. degree in Management, Engineering or comparable field Advanced degrees in management, operations, or other certifications in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing are all a plus.

"EXPERIENCE This is a SENIOR level role, and we are looking for those leaders with a track record of increasing responsibilities over time, along with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.

"MULTI-SITE leadership experience is a MUST - Given this role will manage, direct, supervise and track multiple locations throughout the SE United States, we are seeking those with previous experience in management of multiple facilities or multiple organizations.

"Extensive knowledge of plant operations, product quality, cost control and business development

"STRONG communication, Leadership and organizational skills&. This manager needs to demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective management skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate in a written and verbal manner, in person or remotely with team members and team leaders at all levels. This person must be a strong motivator, and someone able to PUMP up the team to help bring energy, and a PUSH to be their best.

The Sr. Director, External Manufacturing & Operations is BioXcel's primary point of contact for external Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) network including API, DP, packaging, and raw material suppliers. He/she will lead due diligence activities for selection of CMOs and Contract Testing Labs (CTLs) and lead capacity planning for clinical and commercial manufacturing. He/She will contribute to overall CMC strategy development and partner with project team members to align manufacturing plans with overall project plans. He/She will work closely with Clinical Operations and Supply Chain to plan and manage end to end clinical and commercial drug product delivery.

ResponsibilitiesServes as a primary point of contact and relationship manager to CMOs/CTLs and critical raw material suppliers (domestic and international). Provides strategic and operational oversight for network strategy decisions (CMO selection, S&OP input.Develops manufacturing service and supply agreements in close collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Quality. Provides technical and operational expertise to support all aspects of the manufacturing of commercial and late-stage clinical pharmaceutical products at CMOs.Leads and drives resolution of troubleshooting efforts and high-level deviation investigations in conjunction with CMOs and internal partners.Identifies and leads process optimization initiatives for robustness, yield improvement, CoGs reduction, quality, and capacity improvements in all areas of manufacturing.Identifies and escalates business critical risks impacting supply and/or timelines with related mitigations and/or solutions. Implements business continuity plans at CMOs. RequirementsMinimum BS degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Chemical, Biochemical, Biomedical, Materials, Mechanical).Minimum of 15 years' experience in providing Technical Operations role in biopharma drug substance and /drug product manufacturing. Experience with implementing new manufacturing platforms for drug delivery technologies. Comprehensive understanding of cGMP requirements for clinical and commercial manufacturing.Ability to present and defend technical aspects of manufacturing operations during regulatory agency inspections.Proven experience with technology transfers and scale-up of manufacturing processes.Experience in working with CMOs demonstrating excellent communication and influencing skills..Demonstrated critical thinking and risk management.Systems and process development, optimization, and implementation.
