As the Global Commodity Leader for Metals & Stampings, you will drive the strategic sourcing and supplier management for this critical commodity group. You'll lead initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance across global supply chains, while supporting new product introductions and long-term business objectives. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global commodity strategy, including preferred supplier selection, communication protocols with design teams, and compliance enforcement. Cost Optimization: Drive cost-out initiatives through contract negotiation, process improvements, and sustainable cost controls. Collaborate with Finance to validate savings and ledger impact. Supplier Management: Lead supplier selection, qualification, development, and lifecycle management-from RFP to exit strategy. Contract Negotiation: Secure strategic supply agreements for critical components to ensure continuity and mitigate risk. Market Expertise: Build deep knowledge of global steel and aluminum markets. Serve as a technical and commercial resource for NPI teams to design cost-effective solutions. Capacity Planning: Develop models to estimate supplier manufacturing capacity and support investment decisions for ramp-up. Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance, conduct audits, manage recovery plans, and resolve red flags impacting delivery or quality. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Line Sourcing, Fulfillment, Technology, and Product Management to align sourcing strategies with business goals. System Updates: Maintain accurate supplier data in MRP systems, including cost, lead times, MOQs, safety stock, and reorder points. Risk Mitigation: Conduct milestone reviews to identify and address risks prior to product launch. Issue Resolution: Collaborate directly with suppliers and plant buyers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve supply chain disruptions related to their products.
