Job Description
This Credit Solutions Director position is accountable for all structuring, underwriting, closing and portfolio management for their assigned portfolio/market/sector within the Privately Held Business/Professional Services segment of Specialty Commercial. This position coaches and ultimately may directly supervise Vice Presidents and Associates responsible for managing all aspects of lending/credit for a wide range of client relationships. More specifically:
* Responsible for allocating the right resources to each Borrower within the portfolio, as well as to each opportunity in the pipeline.
* Serves as an ambassador of SVB Private as appropriate, both internally and externally.
* Actively leads efforts in structuring, underwriting and closing of new business and addressing the credit requirements of borrowers within the portfolio for the right opportunities / situations.
* Responsible for developing skills and expertise of others, including the development and retention of top talent for SVB.
* Leads development and delivery of insights on loan types and credit/performance trends in sectors/sub-sectors.
* Engages actively with partners in SVB Private, the Commercial Bank, Credit Administration and others to ensure alignment of approach, alignment on credit appetite, and innovation of solutions.
* Fosters seamless working relationships across vertical and horizontal teams.
The Credit Solutions Director will actively engage with clients and prospects alike, in the normal course of transacting and growing SVB's business.
Bachelor's degree is required, and an MBA is preferred.
