PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Executive Director of Technology Sourcing is to provide the strategic direction and leadership for the technology sourcing team that manages the technology portfolio acquisitions for MGM Resorts. The technology portfolio includes spend in the following IT Categories: Software, Network, Telecom, Datacenter, Hardware (PC, Server, Storage, etc.) and Professional Services.

The Executive Director will provide operational guidance, mentorship, training and education to the technology sourcing team.

Through collaboration with IT leadership, Business partners, and MGM's Executive Leadership team, the Executive Director will drive bottom line impact and value that optimizes short- and long-term profitability for MGM Resorts International.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the vision and mission of the IT Sourcing Team and for overseeing the creation and delivery of high-value sourcing strategies across MGM. The ideal candidate is known as a category subject matter expert, a thought leader and has professional credibility within the IT portfolio. Oversee and manage the technology sourcing team to ensure that acquisition of good and services related to technology are prioritized, negotiated, risks mitigated, budgeted, and approved while driving bottom line impact and value. Focused on operational metrics, driving the build of category plans that include robust sourcing pipeline of projects, and ensuring the team is meeting frequently with key IT stakeholders to align on priority and review category plan and strategy. Understand markets to know who the leaders in pricing, technology and service are and drive to the lowest possible total cost of ownership (TCO) for MGM Resorts International. Drive commodity and category-level improvement programs on cost, quality excellence, and supply chain at suppliers. Develop and maintain a portfolio of cost saving projects that meet targets for spend cost reduction. Establish long term and cost competitive supplier relationships at high performance standards. Lead category quarterly supplier performance assessment through balanced scorecards to drive world class performance. Perform other job-related duties as requested.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in the direction and management of employees in a similar environment, which includes experience in negotiation of technology contracts/RFx's/SOW(s)



PREFERRED:


10+ years of relevant IT category experience in a procurement/strategic sourcing or equivalent environment IT Sourcing experience across multiple spend categories Experience working in a similar hospitality environment
