Job Summary
The Sourcing Manager will lead the strategic sourcing and suppliermanagement of aluminum extrusions, powder coating, castings, fabricated metals, and other products. This role is critical to developing a resilient, cost-effective, and globally competitive supply base. You'll work cross-functionally to optimize cost, ensure continuity, and improve supplier performance across multiple commodities. Essential Functions
Develop and lead sourcing strategies for aluminum extrusions and other assigned commodities in alignment with business goals and global market conditions.
Conduct market research to identify and evaluate current and potential domestic and international suppliers based on total cost, quality, capability, and capacity.
Generate and maintain various top management flash reports and monthly market overview reports on key commodities.
Managesupplier negotiations focused on long-term value: pricing, terms, payment schedules, rebates, lead times, and risk mitigation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers; drive continuous improvement via performance reviews, scorecards, and structured feedback.
Analyze cost structures, supply chain risks, and industry dynamics to drive sourcing decisions and strategic initiatives.
Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure timely and specification-compliant delivery of materials.
Lead sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs) and oversee contracts to ensure total cost optimization and performance assurance.
Project manage Sourcing and VA/VE projects to implementation
Monitor inventory levels and internal purchasing tendencies to coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure supply continuity and support cost reduction targets.
Champion process improvements and implement tools that enhance procurement efficiency and transparency.
Ensure compliance with internal processes, SOX requirements, and procurement best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of sourcing or commodity management experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on aluminum extrusions and steel items.
Demonstrated success negotiating with both domestic and international suppliers.
Strong technical knowledge of sourcing systems, procurement processes, and cost structures.
Demonstrated strong project management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP/MRP systems (JDE experience is a plus).

Position Overview:
The Director, Supply Chain will focus on ensuring continuous supply for Avalyn's clinical trial materials, including drug-device combination products used across Avalyn's inhaled therapy portfolio. This leader will collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, and Project Management, as well as Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and device manufacturers globally to accomplish project objectives and timelines. · Develop forecasts for clinical packaging, labeling, and distribution activities. About the Role:
As Director, Global Supply and Demand Planning, you will lead the end to end planning process that enables predictable production, optimized inventory levels, and reliable global fulfillment. You will ensure commercial demand signals are aligned with global manufacturing capabilities and supply continuity. You will build and scale the planning function, partner closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and external suppliers, and create the systems and structure that support efficient, resilient hardware production.

Director of Supply Chain
who will lead ingredient sourcing, quality control, and S&OP processes to ensure consistent, high-quality, and cost-efficient product delivery. This role owns the full supply chain lifecycle, from sourcing functional ingredients and packaging through production, fulfillment, and demand planning alignment, working closely with Operations, Finance, and Product Development.

Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
Lead sourcing strategy across direct, indirect, logistics, packaging, IT/SaaS, and professional services categories.
Identify, evaluate, and engage suppliers to ensure quality and reliability
Develop multi-year category plans with measurable savings, risk mitigation, and supplier development objectives.
Oversee complex contract negotiations (manufacturers, SaaS providers, logistics partners, professional service firms).
Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction and value creation through data-driven decision making.
Technology & Systems Enablement
Evaluate and implement procurement technology solutions (e.g., NetSuite, Ariba, etc).
Partner with IT and Finance to integrate procurement with ERP, contract management, and analytics systems.
Build a procurement analytics dashboard for spend visibility, supplier performance, and working capital metrics.
Financial Impact & Governance
Deliver measurable cost savings, process efficiencies, and working capital improvements.
Partner with CFO, BU Leaders and FP&A to forecast procurement savings and track budget compliance.
Establish and enforce procurement governance across the enterprise - ensuring audit readiness, policy compliance, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering required.
MBA or MS in Supply Chain/Operations strongly preferred.
Professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or Six Sigma) a plus.
10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chainmanagement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience building a procurement organization from the ground up, including defining processes, policies, systems, and talent structure.
Demonstrated success in pharma, life sciences, healthcare services, or regulated distribution environments.
Deep experience negotiating with manufacturers, logistics providers, technology vendors, and professional service firms.
Familiarity with ERP and procurement automation tools (NetSuite, Ariba, etc.).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Deep understanding of regulated supply chains (FDA, DSCSA, HIPAA).
Financial acumen to partner with CFO and FP&A on cost modeling and ROI tracking.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, HEAD OF STRATEGIC SOURCING
SUMMARY:
Ionis is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary leader to establish and lead our Strategic Sourcing function. This individual will be responsible for executing a strategic sourcing roadmap and operating model that aligns with Ionis' values, culture and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will bring deep procurement expertise, demonstrated change leadership, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
The core opportunity for this role lies in transformational change: evolving from decentralized, department-driven procurement to a unified, enterprise-wide strategic sourcing approach. This is a highly visible role that requires exceptional stakeholder management, influencing skills, and a strong grasp of procurement best practices in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and ideally be located at our corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, California.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizational Design & Team Development
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Strategic Sourcing team in line with the Strategic Sourcing roadmap.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
