Director of systems engineering job description

• Minimum 15 years experience in the environmental field including the installation, maintenance and operation of fuel systems including a minimum of five years managing a high performing staff in the industry. In-house experience highly desirable.
• Ability to negotiate with various entities including governmental officials and contractors. Management of capital projects in accordance with industry best practices.

• Must have a solid understanding of NFPA30, 30A, IFC Ch. 57 as well as PEI RP 100, 200, 500, 700 and 1200.
• High performer that is results driven and who can multi-task and effectively delegate.
• Ability to solve problems, add value to the organization and develop effective processes using good judgement
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical writing as well as having the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and authorities having jurisdiction
• Must be able to work independently with minimal daily supervision while maintaining superior productivity, Strong Organization skills a must.
• ICC UST/AST certifications a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft office products, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.
• Position requires travel throughout North America.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

+ 15 years of experience in operations technical program management, including experience with initiatives

+ 10 years of experience leading, developing, or managing multi-function or multi-discipline teams

+ Experience with solving system issues and with technical innovation

Preferred qualifications:

+ Master's degree in Information Systems, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering

+ Experience in Agile software development

+ Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical members

+ Experience as a solutions engineer, systems, or software architect in data center or cloud computing

+ Experience in either storage, networking, or server engineering/deployment and supporting product features, services, and technologies for data centers

In this role, you will lead and build global teams of Technical Product Managers and Solutions Engineers in collaboration with the Unified Fulfillment Optimization organization on behalf of global server operations responsible for system software, product strategy, systems architecture, service level agreements, and engineering health. You will also drive innovation and development on platforms using an inner-source approach. On our team, you will help reduce variability in the supply chain and improve cycle time for data center technicians.

+ Hire, develop, and lead teams of Solutions Engineers and Technical Program Managers.

+ Collaborate with leaders across multiple Engineering and Technical teams to develop, own, and articulate tactical plans and long-term strategy for Google's server operations systems.

+ Lead planning, strategy, and execution forums that focus on centrally prioritizing systems product and engineering features, bugs, optimization, evaluations, and systems support.

+ Execute, manage, and maintain systems architecture as-is and to be between product, engineering, and operations.

+ Enable the fleet health through engineering support, architecture, and inner-sourcing and drive down systems reductions with an increase in automation.

Overview
As the Director of Marketing Systems and Engineering, you will report to the VP of Marketing to build the core systems that are a key part of our go-to-market operation. These are high scale, mission-critical systems and include a combination of homegrown systems and third-party software like Marketo and Salesforce. We take systems very seriously and are looking for a leader to take our amazing systems team to the next level.

ResponsibilitiesOwn all of the marketing systems, including Marketo, core databases, data visualization tools, and dashboards We have an amazing team of software engineers, business systems engineers and data scientists. Continue to build the team to the same high-quality standards. Own evaluation, negotiations, and implementation of the marketing technology stack Own the marketing systems roadmap by prioritizing projects and architecting solutions
QualificationsYou have a history of recruiting and managing high-caliber engineering talent, ideally with teams of 10 or more You have a strong software engineering background, probably in systems, databases, or related areas You're crafty/hacky and have a very strong first principles mentality You're a good communicator, both written and verbal An example project your team would tackle might be scaling a database from 10m to 50m rows. What are all the ways we might do that, and the tradeoffs involved with each approach given the limitations of 3rd party software.
Nice to HaveIf you've worked with Marketo, Salesforce, and related middleware, in the past, that's very useful, but not strictly required.
