Director, procurement job description

The Director, Global Procurement will be responsible for the holistic management of Ingredion's global spend for Chemicals, Packaging and CAPEX categories, with estimated ~$700M while also serving as key member of the Procurement Leadership Team, (PLT). As a key member of the Procurement Leadership Team, core responsibilities will include spearheading the transformation of Procurement function in partnership with company executives, lead and develop a team of professionals, do comprehensive review of the global spend, guide the team on the development of a three-to-five-year category strategies, and deliver results via flawless execution of sourcing projects to reduce cost, protect operating supply, and improve service and quality levels. This highly visible role will require a candidate with the ability to work closely with regional business leaders and global functional leaders.
As a Director your responsibilities will include:
Lead and coach a team of Category Managers.Conduct a thorough assessment of the company's full spend on Direct goods and services Drive implementation of best practices.Assess the complete market for relevant goods and services including; trends, forecasts, risks, geopolitical effects, and supplier profiling Define a fully comprehensive category strategy for indirect goods and services Translate global procurement strategy into detailed category plans with a set of measurable global, regional, and local targets Identify opportunities for cost reduction and avoidance that are attributable to the P&L.Execute on target opportunities by conducting strategic sourcing projects and supplier selection related activities using best practices.Lead the negotiation and development of key contracts through the effective partnering with the supplier, Legal, and the business stakeholder Manage key strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and service. Conduct timely reviews with suppliers to measure performance against contractual standards and performance expectations Develop risk management strategies relating to potential supply disruptions including alternative sourcing options and product/service availability Lead a supplier enablement strategy to maximize spend transacted through SAP Ariba Buying and Supply-Chain CollaborationIdentify procurement processes and policies for alignment at the country, region, and global levels Serve as a mentor to employees outside your direct line of report.

Qualified candidates will have:
A bachelor's degree in business, supply management, engineering, life science, or other related discipline and 10-15 years of procurement/purchasing experience Technical, plant operation, and/or engineering experienced preferred Knowledge and understanding of purchasing practices, policies, and procedures; in-depth experience in using SAP Ariba as a value creating tool.Experience in international procurement / sourcing activities with a record of leading change and cost reduction in cross-cultural environments Experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with results consistent with management's expectationsA demonstrated history of successfully collaborating with multiple internal stakeholdersA passion for managing and developing employees in alignment with company values Strong oral and written communication skills, be highly organized, and have excellent problem solving/decision making abilities Excellent analytical and financial acumen including cost modeling, budgeting, and forecasting

Here's the Gist:
This role will be responsible for the overall management of the design, architecture, implementation, and support of technology solutions for the Supply Chain and Procurement organization. In this role, you will need both technical and communication skills to interface directly with business stakeholders and technology experts to deliver and support our supply chain applications portfolio. This position requires strong experience across the SAP Supply Chain domain of applications as well as best practices for integrating/interfacing with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other third-party systems.

The Day-to-Day:
Provide expertise in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of Supply Chain (SAP S/4 Hana & supporting) applications.Deliver consistently high-quality service and solutions that meet business requirements and ensure goals are accomplished in line with business objectives.Develop and manage the performance of a global team with the objective of building a world-class IT organization through identifying, coaching/mentoring, retaining and attracting top IT talent.Collaborate with business partners to ensure IT work aligns department/corporate goals Manage resource assignments and priorities; working with other functional managers to coordinate assignments to projects and other deliverables Support the initiation process of new project requests including analysis of possible solutions, scope definition, resource, cost and schedule planning.Manage SAP global template for applications to ensure system remains stable and supportable Apply applications knowledge to all phases of systems analysis and consider the business implications to the current and future business environment Ensure policies, procedures, and guidelines are adhered to by team members Monitor, review, report and drive performance metrics for Supply Chain team

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.10-15 years' experience working in an SAP Supply Chain environment (S/4 Hana experience preferred)5+ years leading professional level employees Experience with multiple SAP supply chain modules (MM, PP/DS, SD, EWM, QM) and supporting systems (Ariba/IBP)7+ years Solution Design, Configuration, Implementation and Support of SAP functions.Knowledge on the RICEFW objects Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full cycle implementation as well as in support projects.Experience with integration to commercial MES/Engineering systems and Data Integration Design5 years of overall IT experience and a record of success supporting a fast-paced business organization, providing technical expertise, while applying best practices and leveraging core SAP platform capabilities.Flexible in collaboration with virtual global team via cyber-meeting outside of office hours regularly.Understanding of relational databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle) preferred Technical/Professional Knowledge Quality of Work Self-Starter Clear Communication Adaptability Contributing to Team Success Customer Focus
