This position requires a self-motivated individual who would be responsible for the full lifecycle development of C/C++ programs. This person will engage in a variety of analytical and programming assignments that facilitate the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software applications that focus on high volume point of sale transactions, and payment processing technologies.
* Job Description
* Works as a team member to provide technical expertise and coordinate for day to day deliverables for the team
* Must be able to research on technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions
* Provides expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, operating systems, etc., and guides/mentors the team during the different phases of the software cycle
* Participates in post mortems and create recommendations to eliminate future application errors
* Assists the production support team to identify and solve issues
* Participate in automated regression testing plan of the developed codebase
* Project Management, Project Planning, and Delivery.

* Qualifications:
* 7 plus years of strong software engineering experience with C++.
* Payment industry/financial transaction experience
* Experience with Visual Studio IDE and Unix platforms like Linux, AIX, etc.
* Strong knowledge of SQL
* Experience working with Database Systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc
* Must be a quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

* Desired skills:
* Experience with the understanding of payment standards like ISO 8583, APACS, and PCI compliance
* Experience using software development tools including source control (Git, SVN), quality management ( Agile Central), and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins), debuggers (gdb).
* Knowledge of Google Cloud, Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Containers, and Agile methodology
* BS/MS degree completed or in the works (Computer Science, Engineering or related)

Essential requirements

Collaborate with engineers across the Digital Innovation team to create technical designs, develop, test and solve complex problems that drive the solution from initial concept to production.Identify SPoF and resiliency metrics in all layers of the stack Identify and implement metrics for monitoring and alerting to run HA applications.Think in terms of the big picture, and deliver on the details.Work in an engineering focused, iterative team that's composed of people with a wide range of skills.Demo your work for colleagues and members of the business team.Create & articulate the Vision & roadmap for the products you own.Lead the full product cycle: ideation, research, design, development, testing and launch.Relentlessly clear the way for the development team to be as efficient as possible.Break down and prioritize delivery of products by developing and maintaining the product backlog and cross-product dependencies.Elicit, identify, document, and refine requirements from business problems to detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that may include technical requirements.Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, developers, QA, and other team members to analyze information and functional requirements.Advocate the development process through to implementation, and ensure the delivered product meets business needs.Perform acceptance testing for user stories and features.Manage stakeholder needs & requests while balancing product roadmap priorities.

To qualify, you'll need to have:
Highly Preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology or business information systems or related fields.Managing Technical teams and mentoring technical resources.Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, mobile apps, data integrations, and/or large mobile web applications).Reliability Engineering aspects to ensure availability, resiliency and redundancy of all layers.Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience.Fluent, open communication style - speaking, writing, collaborating.Demonstrated understanding of user experience, user centered design and responsive web design.
Preferred
Minimum two years relevant experience on reliability engineering aspects.Experience designing and delivering large distributed, mobile, machine learning, responsive web or API software systems.Experience working in a team-based, start-up or agile development environment.Mentored product managers, engineers, and designers in how to work together to build great products.A willingness to take ownership of anything at any time.You care about usability and pixels more than the UX/UI team, you care about performance and reliability more than the Engineering team, and you care about the end-user more than anyone else.
